Inu x Boku looks interesting, Blkmage, what's the anime image that you posted first? That looks interesting as well.

I've heard many good things about Black★Rock Shooter. Definately need to have that near the top of my list.

Another seems like it is likely to be a good anime to watch as well. Not everyday does an anime get based off of a whole novel, not that light novels are awesome either (We would never had Haruhi Suzumiya!).

Nisemonogatari, definately. Studio Shaft is the magic word for anything.
And I loved Bakemonogatari.

Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou definately seems promising.

Another series scheduled for Winter: The Knight in the Area/Area no Kishi.
Based on the soccer manga by Hiroaki Igano and Kaya Tsukiyama. Directed by Hirofumi Ogura (Black Butler II) and starring Yuko Sanpei, Jun Fukuyama, and Shizuka Itou. So, if you like shounen sports titles, here's one.

Also, I think this should be fairly accurate but source is a poster from an anime torrent index site + Google Translating a Japanese blog so take it with a healthy amount of skepticism that it got translated over properly so...
It seems noitaminA's producer Yamamoto held a seminar a few days ago where he...basically confirmed what people have been suspecting for awhile. noitaminA has now shifted to targeting "core" fans/otaku, instead of general audiences. The problems are claimed to be a lack of popular manga/novels that would attract a general audience (their solution: original series), and the late night 12:45 timeslot.
I question both those reasons...but whatever...
They do seem to be trying to produce more 22 episode series from now on, so there's that.

But basically, expect more shows like Guilty Crown and Black★Rock Shooter in the future.

As far as I'm aware, noitaminA shows have never been amazingly huge hits, save for a few shows. If their objective is to create more hits, then yeah, their strategy is obviously going to work because targeting otaku in a late-night slot is going to work way better than targeting a general audience. But what puzzles me is why they bothered to expand to the second timeslot. I mean, one of the things that never made sense to me was why they'd use a late-night timeslot to target general audiences anyway. But, I mean, like, they didn't anticipate this problem when they thought up the timeslot? Really?

Also, I really should be making preview threads later, because literally like a day or two after I posted it, some of the shows got cast and staff information.

Another
This looks like a promising horror story. Having Nozi Itou's character designs is a plus.

Ano Natsu de Matteru
This one looks cute and cheesy. I think that this could be promising.

Papa no Iu Koto o Kikinasai!
This could be bad or funny. I am hoping this one is the latter.

Amagami SS+
I will watch this just to complete the series. It seems to be one where we can see more of their summer uniforms and to sell more merchandise.

Tantei Opera Milky Holmes Second Season
I hope this is as funny as the first and maybe give more of a story. The first season was rather funny.

Inu x Boku SS
Watching this out of curiosity. It looks quite interesting.

Nisemonogatari
I will not be watching this one since I haven't watched the first series entirely. It still looks great. Hmm, Hitagi looks like what I pictured here to be. Nadeko looks like she resembles Iori from Idolmaster 2. ClariS seems out of place for Nisemonogatari, but hey they did do a good OP for Puella Magi Madoka Magica.

Yay, two new shows that I am excited about for next season, which was looking pretty dire.

Gyrozetter - mecha show for kids = win. Also, Shoji Kawamori mecha designs. That's two Kawamori things in one season.

<<Unsure if this is actually good...

Smile Precure - magical girl show for kids = win.

I think Precure deserves its own thread here.

Yeah, since I have little actual magical girl experience, I'd be totally up for watching Smile because I don't have the time for Heartcatch at the moment.

Will also give Gyrozetter a chance.

You forget that the last thing(that I know of, anyways) that Kawamori did only the mecha designs for was Eureka Seven, so yeah, that's pretty frigging awesome news. I will definitely be checking this out.

Do we have a studio on it?

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I am down for his designs, but he is such a...hit or miss...director that I don't think he can afford to be distracted from directing Aquarion EVOL. Or maybe the distraction will prevent him from overthinking things?? I dunno.
Do we have a studio on it?
I also should have mentioned this earlier: A-1 Pictures is the one.

He's not directing EVOL, just supervising or something.

Also, Precure thread might be a good idea, but idk how many people are actually watching Suite right now or really anyone who's watched one that isn't Heartcatch.

Both MAL and ANN have him listed as chief director, though I suppose that could be a supervisory role in practice. Yusuke Yamamoto is also listed as a director.

I meant that we can start one when Smile starts airing in February and use it as a Precure General thread from then on.

It's apparently some sort of upcoming Square-Enix multimedia franchise with cars that transform into robots(lol, can you say product placement?) There's a bunch of mecha designers listed though, not just Kawamori so I don't know how big a role he actually has.

Where are you seeing that this is airing in January? Everything I'm looking at is just listing 2012.

You know...you're right MasterDias. My bad. I totally just assumed it was airing this winter. D'oh!

Since they are just screening an early dev trailer in a couple of weeks, it will probably air later on in the year after all.

Yeah, "director" is the director and "chief director" is less involved.

I could be talked into watching the new Precure.

Yeah, the game isn't apparently coming out until next summer. They will probably try to air it closer to then. A1 Pictures is an interesting choice though. I think this will be their first actual mecha series.

PVs:
Aquarion EVOL
Another
Black★Rock Shooter
Rinne no Lagrange

So, there was an Aquarion EVOL presentation yesterday. It's going to be 2-cour and the first airing is apparently an hour long special. Satelite has been a pretty quiet studio for a few years aside from the Macross Frontier movies. But between this, the space pirate series, and the Kawamori-produced AKB48 anime in the Spring; it looks like it's picking up for them.

Oh, missed this thread in its beginnings. Let's see what we have here...

- Recorder to Randoseru: I'm confused by the premise, but okay, it looks interesting enough for a one episode watch.
- Poyopoyo Kansatsu Nikki: I would have passed this had the description not included "mysterious spherical cat". Now I have to see the first episode.
- Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou: I am hoping this gives us some good comedy. It does have Nichijou in the name. *is shot*
- Moretsu Pirates: Eh, I dunno.
- Inu x Boku SS: If he's a fox, the Inu part makes little sense. But the art makes me want to see one episode of this and the premise is pretty okay.
- Brave10: This reminds me of some other anime, but I may watch this.
- Rinne no Lagrange: Flower declaration of your heart: I like to support original works, but yeah, Xebec is a little meh. Well see how this takes off.
- Another: I'm not much into horror, so I may give this one a pass. Interesting that it's based off a real novel though.
- Ano Natsu de Matteru: Too little info to know much. :\
- Baby, Please Kill Me: This could be really dumb or really clever. I'm leaning towards the former. :[
- High School DxD: Uh, no. Pass.
- Papa no Iu Koto o Kikinasai!: The director does seem a bit odd for a series like this. Maybe it's one of those series that's really hard to explain so it sounds awkward...no idea. Might give this one a watch for the director, though.
- Senhime Zesshou Symphogear: If the seiyuus can sing, there is no problem here. Not sure about the story, though. XD
- Black★Rock Shooter: YESSSSSS!
- Amagami SS+: Don't care.
- Natsume Yuujinchou Shi: Oh yeah, I was going the watch the first season of this. Better get on that.
- New Prince of Tennis: I'm tempted to finally watch this, but probably not.
- Tantei Opera Milky Holmes Second Season: I need to finish the first season. The premise and opening still make me smile (Sherlock and Moriarty fighting samurai/anime style on the roof).
- Zero no Tsukaima F: Don't care.
- Nisemonogatari: I think someday I will care.
- Aquarion Evol: And don't care.

Man, this season's lineup looks pretty dull besides Black★Rock. Of course, I thought that this past season and still found plenty to watch. Anything is possible.

Side note about movies, I didn't know the new Rurouni Kenshin animation was going to be a movie, but it looks like that. And there's a new Space Captain Harlock movie coming out by Toei that's all in CG, I think. (this may have already been mentioned, but it's new to me. XD)

Someone's been subbing the Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou previews, which are essentially entire segments, so watching those should give you a good idea of what the show's going to be like.

I've heard things about Thermae Romae, but it looks like DLE is producing it, which means it's going to be a crappy flash anime.

@ Neane: If I cared at all about Berserk, I'd probably agree with you.

@ Blkmage: The PVs of Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou don't look super promising, but I do like the look and feel of the three main-ish characters thus far.

I would vouch for Thermae Romae since I read a bit of the manga. It manages to make a story about a time-traveling Roman bath architect better than it sounds and it's actually pretty funny. I'm not sure about the anime though, if it's only three episodes and animated in flash. I hope the shorter noitaminA series thing is just for this season and is not going to be a long-term trend or something.

Bodacious Space Pirates could potentially be pretty fun.

I was actually talking about this with blkmage, and we thought that maybe their way of trying to avoid any colossal bombs is to use the noitaminA slot to show off something for a very short run of episodes, see if it is popular, and then do an entire series of it. A lot of shows get this with OVAs, but since noitaminA is supposedly targeting a more casual audience, they probably aren't the type to go pick up OVAs, so they're using the three episode run to test the waters.

As long as BRS isn't like that OVA....

If I had watched the original I would be interested in nise.

As a heads up, Crunchyroll updated their lineup page for Winter and will start announcing stuff tomorrow. It appears that they have 12 shows...which is like...half of what's actually airing.
