Tsubasa Chronicles might interest you. It is fantasy, with some romance. I think the content card fits for what you'd like. But you'd have to fill in the gaps in the story with the manga. I think AnimeGirl has some reviews of the series and the OVAs...

Galaxy Express 999- it's older but definitely would be up your alley (can be seen on CR)
The Wings of Honneamise- worth your time if you can find a copy
