I finally got my hands on "Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad" and I must say, I am not disappointed in the least with my investment! This anime is, if I may ad-lib a quote from the dub, "A giant, raging, torrent of WIN". The English dub blew me away with the breeze of awesomeness (God Bless whoever made the decision to cast Greg Ayres as Koyuki) and the songs (ESPECIALLY the opening one which I downloaded the very next day) really stick with you! The only thing that that I kinda didn't like was the frequent "F" bombs. I'm not one to rag on profanity or anything (I don't cuss either online or off) but come on! It seems as though at times they used the "F" word for lack of anything else! It's by far the most swearing I've ever heard in any anime since the English dub of "Ghost Stories"...and that's saying something!
But, that aside, "Beck" has earned a place on my shelf as being one of the best anime I've seen this year! I'm only on Episode 7, so it's too early to see if it's one of the best of all time, but it looks like it can earn that distinction!

There's a slot for it, but there is nothing there and I was hoping for some kind of liner notes... is mine missing it, or does it not exist?

Yeah, mine came with a little note thing about the series.
PS- Lucky Star has a viridian collection out. Those individual disks are gonna get really expensive, and it'll be more expensive to buy those than get the whole collection. Same for Princess Tutu. My advice is to save up for the collection next time, when there's a complete set out, because I've had this happen to me multiple times. Even when buying on Amazon Marketplace.
Edit: And checking Amazon Marketplace out, even though those disks are cheap right now, the prince combined with the shipping means you'll already pay more than the viridian collection.

Yeah- I bought the lucky star dvd used, and I bought Princess Tutu YEARS ago. I plan to buy a full series someday.

OK new question: I tried calling ADV to see if they could give me just the "liner notes", but none of their contact numbers work (I guess cuz ADV itself folded a couple months ago.) I"m trying to find a contact number that doesn't say: "We're sorry, this number has been disconnected [one or two numbers said "temporarily]. Does anybody know who to call next? Or should I take it to the store I got it from? (it was a gift so I don't have the receipt)
