Last week I finished FFXII. Wow. I want the last two months of my life back. <_< Seriously, I haven't been so disappointed by a FF game since...FFI. And at least that one had the added merit of being the very first one, so I wasn't expecting a riveting story or anything. But...when I played FFXII, I was hoping for a story that was a little less...lame. I never thought I would miss Tidus' inappropriately loud remarks (I don't mind Tidus by the end, but
wow is he a jerk or what at the beginning?!), but I certainly prefer "Hey, what if she, like, comes onto me?" to Vaan's flat and rare lines.
Then I started Star Wars: The Force Unleashed immediately after, and just beat it this morning. That's got to be the fastest linear game I've ever played. At least this time I knew it was going to be hopelessly cheesy, since it's Star Wars
I played the Wii version for the added kinetic pleasure that makes you feel like you actually are using the Force, and it was worth it, I think, but after watching the Light Side ending on YouTube (because they hide it extremely well; I never even
saw where the Emperor and that other dude were), I realized just how much I was missing by playing this version, graphics-wise. The story and voice acting were super lame, and the graphics were atrocious for this gen, but it was a fun game to play once. You get to be an evil Sith and fight Jedi, which is good enough for me. Never really want to play it again, though.
Now I'm just continuing to play Xenogears, which I've been slowly going through for a long time now. I knew since the attack on Lahan way back in the beginning that I loved the game, and I knew since the transition to Kislev partway through that the game is every bit as good as FFX, which I hold up as the best JRPG I've ever played. And it continues to surprise and excite me, so I'm loving it to death. I'm getting close to the end of the first disc, according to the walkthroughs, and I'm just about ready to go back through the Tower of Babel for the second time.
You can find out things about the past that you never knew. And from what you've learned, you may see some things differently in the present. You're the one that changes. Not the past.

"There's a difference between maliciously offending somebody - on purpose - and somebody being offended by...truth. If you're offended by the
truth, that's your problem. I have no obligation to not offend you if I'm speaking the truth. The truth is
supposed to offend you; that's how you know you don't got it."
