Let's Play Oregon Trail II

Postby Peanut » Tue Apr 20, 2010 6:01 pm

Yep, its sequel time. I've dusted off my copy of Oregon Trail II and it seems to work well enough for me to actually try and do a let's play (I hope...). Unlike with the original Oregon Trail, I don't have anything fancy to show you before the game starts. So, I need volunteers to join the second trip to Oregon. So far we have:

-Me
-Mith

I know some other people said they wanted to be in the sequel but I'm to lazy to look back at the original thread.

I don't know much about Oregon Trail, but I want to go anyway. So yeah, count me in if there is room.

Oh, definately let Midori join over me! I was just volunteering if there wasn't enough for a full house.

Oh man. This will be fun to watch.

So excited for another round of Oregon Trail! A little sad I missed my opportunity to join the trail though...

Don't be. Everyone's going to die horribly, just like last time. (Except for Fish, but only because he murdered everyone else. If it were up to me, I'd give him a spot on the wagon, as the defending champion, so he can die horribly like everyone else.) It'll still be entertaining to watch!

Is OT2 the version where you can rub salt into gunshot wounds or use snow to treat frostbite? Because that will make this run extra-entertaining. (Also, IIRC, there's a lot more rivers in this version. That means more chances to prove your manliness by fording them all!)

I'd agree about the defending champion thing, except I'm too excited about having made this one. If someone else wants to give up their spot I'm all for it.

I think we even have a copy of OT 5, *checks* yes, yes we do. But I can't remember having to treat people with snow. Subscriberereringering.

Obviously, doing that isn't good for the person who you do it to (not that a gunshot wound is great in the first place), but you still have that option. I'm guessing you'd only pick it if you were either very stupid or a sociopath.

Heaven help the members of your party if you turn out to be both.

The Adventure Begins!

Image
I decided to forgo accuracy with my occupation. While I could be a pastor, they get no money...also I can cure sicknesses which will be useful on this trip.

Ages were chosen for accuracy...well except for Mith...I just felt like making him a middle aged man.

Image
Is this a bad time to mention that I've never made it to Oregon in this game.

Image
Welcome to Independence. Home of the live action actors dressed up like Davie Crockett.

Image
Instead of having one shop controlled by Matt, this game contains numerous shops to cover all your shopping needs. However, I'm a doctor Jim, not an avid shopper. So, I'll just turn to the right and buy a premade package for six months worth of supplies. Besides, this lady couldn't possibly be related to Ma...what? Your his wife...oh crap...

Image
That package doesn't contain oxen...so I actually do have to go to one of those stores. Thanks Matt's wife...thanks...

Image
There's safety in numbers. So let's go with train 2.

Image
YEAH! LET'S DO THIS!!! We're all going to die...aren't we...

Image
And, faster then I can press print screen, we've arrived at our first river. I'm not a fan of fording rivers so let's Caulk this wagon and float! What's the worse that could hap--

Image
...frick...well at least we're all o--

Well aside from the fact that I almost drowned in 3 feet of water, I wanna know who's not tellin' the truth here.

I'm apparently not the only female on this trip.
