Two songs I just downloaded from iTunes:
Nausicaa Symphonic Poem:First Movement from Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind

In which I do believe Hisaishi-san is paying homage to Handel's Sarabande (from about 5:41 to 5:51), and I could swear I can hear shades of Beethoven, Mozart and Bach, off and on, too, but
that could be my imagination. I don't have any songs to point to for those, it's just a feeling. Wow...think I just out-geeked myself right there...lol. Whatever the inspiration, it's a lovely piece of music.
Discombobulate from The Sherlock Holmes soundtrack.
Kind of manic and eerie, and gives me an adrenaline rush. Wouldn't feel at all out of place in a Tim Burton movie, or say...something like Soul Eater. lol. Not what I would have expected to find in a movie about a genius detective in Edwardian London, but very very addictive, nonetheless.

Probably the coolest ending theme/credit roll I've ever seen. And they have quite the cheeky sense of humor here, too. Just look at the picture in 1:40, and then who it is they are crediting...gave me a giggle in the movie theater. Oh, the irony.
