I don't know. It looks like it will be decent but...it kind of strikes me as just being bland. Part of it is probably that this isn't a film within a genre I tend to enjoy.

Looks interesting and good but the genre just kinda irves me like Peanut brought up.

I see it attacks the retardness that is high school so it interests me.

I just saw it and thought it was awesome, a new favorite Christian movie of mine. Jake certainly does make some good decisions, and the messages were delivered in a great way. True, it had some pretty mature themes, but this wasn't a movie with an "after school special" mentality. I say see it before it goes out of theaters.

If you know the kind of movies I like, you would know that "Christian Cheese" films aren't my favorite, and they are not. It's sad that "Christian Art" is usually synonymous with being cheesy, and equally sad that, because Christian Art is generally less refined as secular art, people have a preconceived notion about any movie/show/band that is labeled as "Christian" and allow that to hinder them in receiving the message that piece of art might bring. However, I saw this movie with some friends for what it was and for the message it had behind it, and I thought it was powerful. Extremely powerful.....not because I'm a Christian and I like Christian things (usually I don't go for Christian art of any kind), but because it shows, in alot of cases, how the modern youth group is (and even the modern church) and it isn't pretty. It serves as a reminder that indifference is a disease that affects a vast sect of Christianity, which usually means we go about wanting to live our lives the way we want to and not helping out those who are struggling and ignore their cries for help (which is one of the problems with Christianity today in my opinion). I think all youth pastors should arrange a time to take kids that want to see it to see the film. Sure, you could watch it and critique it for its artistic value, and then say, "Well, the acting wasn't as good as _________," but then you would be missing the point of the film. I highly recommend you go in with an open mind and view the movie for the message it brings, not for it's execution, but for the message.
"To be a good listener, you must acquire a musical culture...you must be familiar with the history and development of music, you must listen...to receive music you have to open your ears and wait for the music, you must believe that it is something you need ...to listen is an effort, and just to hear has no merit. A duck hears also." - Igor Stravinsky

We took the youth group to go see this last month. It is an extremely powerful movie --and it doesn't skirt around the issues of life. I wholeheartedly recommend that you see it at least once. It's worth your time.
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
