Ok... So the evil, traitorous Danzo is the leader of Konoha, Akatsuki is coming back to kick butt... You know, the whole THREE of them that survived and are still Akatsuki members, and of course Hawk... or falcon... or whatever they're called is coming...

Give me a break... Are the people of konoha which had just shown their undying devotion to Naruto going to turn on him at Danzo's command? *sigh*

I'll admit, I thought the NarutoxSakura moment there was absolutely adorable, XD.

I don't even know what to think about this Danzo business, but I do expect there will be resistance. Sakura especially should have an issue, seeing as how Danzo is her mentor's enemy. But of course, Sakura will probably be pushed to the side like she always is.

Well, keep in mind that there are only over a dozen or so people in Konoha that he could really count as "friends." But, what happens after this, I have no idea...

Also, did I miss the information where Shikamaru's dad was a member of the council, or did that just come up this chapter?

Yeah, and those three from the Hidden Mist, I think, that are on their way to Konoha that showed up again is probably a good sign that the story will be heading back in that direction. Actually, that was my favourite part of the last chapter, seeing those three.

They are from the Hidden Cloud, actually, but yeah...
Those three, and the way they play off of each other is interesting, particularly since it's the only team he's added that has two girls in it. Kishimoto doesn't have a great track record as to making most of the side characters very relevant, but maybe they will show new techniques or something at least.

Well, either Danzo has a CHA of 20+ or the Konoha council consists of the most easily persuaded people in the world. I prefer the latter option so that I can believe they continue debating in the next chapter.

Council Member: Danzo, you will be the sixth Hokage!
Shikamaru's Dad: But wait, what's Danzo hiding under that eye patch? What doesn't he want us to see?
Council Member: That's a good point.
Council Member #2: A very good point indeed.
Council Member: Shikamaru's dad, you will be the sixth Hokage!
Danzo: That kind of thinking is weak!
Council Member: Danzo, you will be the sixth Hokage!
Random Anbu: But look how awesome my mask is!
Council Member: Anbu guy, you will be the sixth Hokage!

Heh... that would have been really funny... I'd rather discover that the council is actually under the imperius curse and now with Voldemort dead at Itachi's hands, there's a new dark lord controlling everything.

Wait...

I mean, I agree... The "Danzo is hokage" thing was really really weak. As was Pain bringing everyone back (except Juraiya) What ever happened to keeping rules consistent in their own universe?

I'm actually interested in the story again at this point because characters I've known and cared about from part 1 are being involved again. I think I've said that at the beginning of every arc, though. . .XD.

So, Kishimoto went on something of a character creation binge this last chapter. There was like eight new characters, including both of the remaining Kages.
The most interesting is probably the Mist. They have a female Mizukage, and that kid is apparently one of the Seven Swordsman.
The weirdest are the guys from Stone. Is that one escort supposed to be a woman? She looks like a bizarre mix of Sai and Anko.

Who is Shushui? I wouldn't put it past Madara to impersinate more than one person, but I'm still not sure, maybe Danzo is Madara's brother?

I think [spoiler]Danzo has one eye, Madara has the other. Danzo received a Sharingan eye the same way Kakashi did, and that's why we only see one eye on Tobi. So Tobi is a fake name, the mask was to conceal his identity, and he's been working with Danzo the whole time[/spoiler]

This is the best I can come up with reading 1 minute's worth of manga a week, at least. Maybe when the anime progresses a bit more, It'll be clearer to me.

Now this was a good chapter.

As for the Mizukage, it seems she over-sensitive to being under-appreciated or downright mistreated because of her gender. Any suggestion of women being inferior or talk of common crimes against women like forced marriages upset her. Pretty as she is drawn, thought it's presented comedically, she would have been at great risk for being treated like property between influential men.

Oh, that explains it, she's going to meeting of mostly men and doesn't want to be treated unfairly. She does act a bit motherly to Chojuro, I wonder what became of his parents?

I'll admit to being somewhat interested, now that we're being given some information about the other countries (and new characters are always a novelty). Hopefully some non-Naruto characters will get to do something.

On the subject of the Mizukage, I've interpreted her behavior less benevolently. It seems as though her comic relief trait is that she's hyper-sensitive about not being in a relationship. That fits the two incidents we've seen, though perhaps two isn't enough to demonstrate a trend.

Interesting contrast. I wonder if this has anything to do with our genders? We'll have to see, though since the manga-ka is male, having him use my design would be rather forward thinking on his part.

This weeks chapter first two pages in color! Happy 10th aniversery Naruto!
As for the chapter itself, it was ok, but Karui is getting annoying. There is Sasuke and Danzo's pending confrontation, Sasuke should wait to attack after the meeting, but who knows what he'll do.
