Anti-virius software helps! Plz

Postby ChristianKitsune » Thu Mar 12, 2009 5:52 pm

Hey guys, I recently bought a new Windows Vista Basic computer... ^^; and when my McAffee's 30 day trial ran out, I decided to download AVG...but I uninstalled after it decided to freeze after starting scanning... I would always have to force my computer to turn off and restart it....

So I'm not sure if I didn't install the right version of AVG, (it was Free AVG 8.5) and I went to free.avg.com or something like to download it...

My friend told me that I had to click the EXACTLY right link buttons or I'd get a virus or something... I don't think I have a virus my computer just likes to freeze ^^;

Yah..it's weird.

So if anyone could help me out and provide me with a AVG that is compatible with Vista, or even a different free-ware antivirus program that would be great!

Thanks so Much!

I don't know of too many free anti-viruse out there >_> I only know of Kaspersky, Norton, AVG, and Avast (this one didn't work well for me. It did something really weird with my internets. I could access IM, but not the actual internet, so I use AVG) ^__^

Make sure you get one for your OS. I'm not very tech savy (sp), but I'm sure getting the wrong one would be hazardous ^__^;

Have you updated to the latest windows security patches? If you don't have the latest versions of the security updates, it's possible the program won't run right.
