Zelda needs more replay value though. It would be neat to buy magic gems or something after you beat the game that change you into the different monsters and characters that you've met.

LOL! Interesting idea.
Someone should forward this to Nintendo.

You see I may have liked MM better if I wasn't under a timelimit. Because I'd always run out of time before I could do much. Don't get me wrong the game is probably really great, but due to my horrible gaming skills I can't really get to it.

I wish I had finished LttP though. The reason I didn't finish it because I got stuck and couldn't manage to get farther. Really the music in it is amazing.

But yeah, this is now my favorite thread.

Metal Gear Solid 4.

Wait what? Oh. Well I've only played the original NES one...so my vote on this topic is irrelevant as pretty much is my post.

Um...the best two zelda related songs are

1) The rap in the American commercial from the '80s.

and

2) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EN5eKTcvfg8

I've only really played old school Zelda and I really fail to understand the hype behind OoT. It's a good game, but almost as overrated as Halo.

(If Negs were on this site, I'd get a million right about now.)

You fail, the song isn't by System of a Down. It's by a group called The Rabbit Joint.

That's why you play them over and over until you can beat the game without collecting any extra heart pieces/upgraded swords (in the games where you can keep from getting better swords)

Well that was a VERY hard choice. I was torn between The Phantom Hourglass, Wind Waker, and A Link to the Past. Since you already helped me out by not including PH (and why not?!? Should have just put one of the FS games, I know they're slightly different but should have just put Four Swords Adventures as it was an actual game on its own and Four Swords is not), I ultimately went with Wind Waker. LttP is probably the one I've played the most but I don't know, I just love everything about WW. The style, the story, the music and I actually LIKED sailing around in that boat and really enjoyed going on treasure hunts for the Tri Force pieces. I thought that was great... I love treasure hunts. It reminded me of the first game in that respect as well in that you had to collect the 8 pieces in that one as well. So I thought that was cool.

I don't think I would have enjoyed it as much if I had not played OoT but I had, so I really loved WW. Really liked that ending. It was slightly sad. You know, the old Hyrule you were once familiar with is now kind of like Atlantis... Anyway, ya... Wind waker probably followed by it's sequel, The Phantom Hourglass and then LttP...

Edit: You also forgot Link's Crossbow Training but I'll let that one slide for obvious reasons :P It was a fun game though, just waaaay too short.

Really?
Because I don't recall ever stating it was by System of a Down.
I sent a link that was solely meant for audio purposes so people would know what song I was talking about.

The person that made the video failed. Not I.

That song is still win and the song you posted is less win.

Unlike yours, my opinion is always factual no matter what.

I think the A Link to the Past commercial that aired in Japan is funnier.

Woah really? Maybe I just didn't get that far. I'll be honest, I really only got past the first part of the game. So I guess I just didn't give the game enough time and then assumed wrong about the rest of the game. Man if only I still had that Master Quest GC disk(With the first two Zelda games, OoT, and MM. I was just borrowing the disk from my friend.)! Would they still have one at Gamestop?

Nate wrote:Actually you're thinking of two separate discs.

There's one disc, the Master Quest disc for Gamecube, which has the Master Quest and original versions of OoT on it. The second disc, the Zelda collection, has OoT (original version, no Master Quest), MM, the original Zelda, and Zelda II.

The Master Quest is completely the same except for the dungeons, and the dungeon MAPS are still the same, just the stuff in the rooms and puzzles are different. The game is a bit more challenging, sort of. The first few dungeons are ridiculously hard, but the Water Temple onward seem EASIER than the original. So yeah.

I don't know about Gamestop, the Zelda Collection is getting pretty rare. I got mine last Christmas on ebay for about $40, you could try looking there.

As much as I love all of the Legend of Zelda games, my favorite would probably be Oot. A close second is Alttp, but those two are my favorites mostly because of the good memories associated with them. I really liked WW and TP, but they just didn't have the same impact as Oot, mostly because I played them by myself.

Though I don't want to speak for anyone else, I'm pretty sure that given that the two greatest (by popular opinion) Zelda games are on there, Ocarina of Time and Link to the Past, that you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who likes Phantom Hourglass better than those two.

Unless of course Phantom Hourglass was the only Zelda game someone had played, then it would by default have to be their favorite I guess.

Majora's Mask. Throw rocks at me.

The game dared to branch off from the standard Zelda formula and had a heck of a lot more personality than Ocarina of Time did. I have also always found the Three Days time limit and time travel more compelling than Ganondorf's conquest. And overall, the game was just a lot more polished. A true video game sequel and an evolution of the franchise.

Ocarina is probably the "Perfect" Zelda game, as it encompasses and executes everything we should expect from any competent Zelda title, what Zelda is; but Majora is the "Best" because it showed us what Zelda is and could become.

Twilight Princess for the Wii. Prior to that, it was Ocarina of Time, but Twilight Princess was absolutely delightful. It felt like Ocarina of Time 2 to me, which is not a bad thing at all. It took concepts that the development team started working with in OoT and expounded on them in a more complete way. It also drew me in in a way no video game had done in quite a while through great gameplay and what I believe was a higher degree of character development and attention to storytelling. The Wii remote felt incredibly natural and intuitive to play with and the dungeons were fun and challenging without being ridiculous. My only real gripe was that the boss fights, while they were huge and fairly clever for the most part, never felt like much of a threat because I usually destroyed them after one or two minutes of figuring out the trick to take them down. That minor quibble aside, my vote is for Twilight Princess.
I'm a shoe-in for hater of the year.

Everyone's seen it so I figured posting a link would be pointless.

But the one you shared was awesome too.
