Batman villain you DON'T want in the next movie

Postby rocklobster » Sat Jan 10, 2009 5:02 am

Let's face it, some of the Batman villains are just AWFUL! Which villain would ruin the next Batman movie?
I say the following:
Maxie Zeus (if he was super-powered, maybe. But this guy is a terrible villain)
Ventriloquist (he takes orders from a dummy, people!)
Man-Bat (oh please!)
The Penquin (sorry, never liked him)

Unless Nolin does an amazing job...I don't want to see Bane ever again. Also not a fan of Catwoman or Poison Ivy.

Agreed on Bane and Ivy,but not Catwoman. I believe Clayface is overrated. I hope he's not in the next movie.

Not a fan of Poison Ivy myself, and I don't think she'd be suited well for a movie (I mean...really, Uma Thurman? Really?). Also, while I love Mr. Freeze's character, it'd be a miracle if they could repair the damage done to him by Schwartzenegger and Schumacher. Shudder.

By the way, that said, I think it'd be awesome to see Julian Day/The Calendar Man in one of the movies, if only as a side character.

I like Clayface, but he wouldn't actually work in the "realistic" world that Nolan wanted, unless they take severe liberties.

Definitely King Tut. (See 60s Batman TV series.)

Fish has a point. Those three villains are some of my favorites. Penguin especially.

In the spirit of the thread, however, I'll vote manBat down. Thing was creepy when I saw it... O.o

Like the miracle they did repairing Batman from Schumacher?

Something like that, but here we have the allied forces of Schumacher AND Schwartzenegger. That's a lot of Schs to recover from!

Christopher Nolan can do anything......even King Tut. So I don't care WHO the next villain is, just as long as Nolan directs.

Agreed, Batman:TAS had a great version. Batman Beyond did a good story with him too.

I am with Fish on his opinions here too.

However to keep on topic:

Hush

...I liked his intro, but I have no idea what they were doing with him after that in the bat books...

Batman: TAS is the reason why I like Mr. Freeze as a character. XD And I didn't know Batman Beyond had a story with him (at least, I didn't remember); I'll have to look it up sometime.

How can you hate Bane? I mean the REAL Bane? The one who broke all the inmates out of Arkham and broke Batman's back leading Batman to have to find a replacement who ended up being a complete psycho? BANE!!!!

(He wasn't quite as awesome in B:TAS but at least he was INTELLIGENT.)

I wouldn't want to see the Mad Hatter. Because they'd do him wrong.

If they don't have Penguin as a legit businessman who owns The Iceberg Lounge, I don't want to see him in the next film.

I really don't want Riddler to appear

"Doing him right" in my book would require that people he freezes solid DIE.

On topic, the villain I don't want to see is Calendar Man, who beats out the Riddler as far as idiotic MO's.

Calender Man would be a pretty bad idea, but if they did Holiday it could be one of the best things ever conceived.

Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze and Man-Bat. It's not exactly that I don't like them, they just wouldn't fit into the realistic / believable style of Nolan's Batman movies.
