Too bad Christopher Nolan isn't directing it. Bet it'd be AWESOME.
Ahh~ It makes me happy to hear that I'm not the only fan of this series on CAA XD... I've been so scared of exploding with happiness...because I really loved the movie...but like Ashley said it wasn't as good as the books...ah well~
They got a new director...it would be interesting to see how Weitz goes with it...although...I'm a bit sad to see Catherine go..:/ And there's rumors they are replacing Taylor Lautner...mixed feelings. I mean I know WHY they want to do it...because gosh, this movie is coming out in 11 months... that's a not alot of time for that kid to grow (if anyone's read the books you'll understand why xD)
Incidentally, Chris Weitz has written a letter to the fans, promising that he will make us happy...
Letter from New Moon Director Chris Weitz
Dear fans of Twilight, New Moon, Bella, Edward, and Jacob,
In the past few days I have been involved in a whirlwind romance with Stephenie Meyer's extraordinary books.
And I am very grateful to have received her permission to protect New Moon in its translation from the page to the screen.
For fans of the books and of the film of Twilight, this may come as an unexpected twist. So I want to write briefly to try to put you at ease, and to give you reason to hope for and expect the best.
For the last decade of my career as a director, I have chosen to make adaptations of complex and involved works of literature. This has always begun with the love of a book and its characters, story, and theme]
I wasn't all that optimistic about the first movie until I saw trailers for it... that's when I knew that they actually cared...the first movie had it's flaws with Catherine... I thought a few special effects could have been done better...and with a bigger budget (this time, instead of 39 million, its' 150 million...) we may get a better movie.
I guess part of me is kind of relieved to see a new director...because I think that Cathrine Hardwick's idea of the second book was really off...
She seemed to think that the second book was about Jacob and Bella's budding relationship after Edward leaves, but she only got it half right...it's still about Bella and Edward's love...Edward loved Bella SO much that he wanted to protect her, that's why he was an idiot and left her... not knowing what would happen... Its a bit more deeper than that i guess..
so I was a bit worried about her idea of it...but We got 11 months to wait and see though...cross your fingers, fans!
