This article made me laugh hysterically when I read it...

I would also like to take this time to note that Pat White has broken the all time rushing record for a QB...though he isn't having a tremendous senior year, he did have one of his best individual games last saturday against Louisville. If WVU wins out and doesn't win the Big East outright (which is quite likely), hopefully the Gator Bowl will choose WVU over a Notre Dame or Missouri (really I see little reason why they wouldn't choose a 9-3 WVU squad with Pat White...).

Tubberville resigns as Head Football Coach at Auburn

Personally I'm surprised. It's only been two years since they won 11 games and four since they went 13-0. Guess the fans were really bummed about how this year went...

On a side note, Pat White's last home game is going to be a "White Out." Stewart says it's being done for the entire Senior class however he's forced to say that because of his position. Everyone knows that this is being done for Pat White and personally I think it's a great idea. He is one of the greatest to play the collegiate game and easily the greatest football player we have had at WVU. Now hopefully we will beat USF this year...

The biggest surprised about all of this was, he quit on his own and wasn't force out.

Tuberville's resignation comes as shock to Auburn AD

But at the same time, this was going to happen sooner or later. Tommy Tuberville never trusted Auburn after the JetGate deal. Tuberville and Petrino have no ill feelings over it, but the fact that some people at Auburn know that Tuberville still had some ill feelings for Auburn even doing that in 2003.

At one point, a good number of fans kind of felt that Tuberville would be gone in a few years after all of this. It just more of a surprised that the took him this long to get out of Auburn.

When Tennessee job open up, Tuberville was on the list for Tennessee and there was alot of talk that he wanted out of Auburn then, but he wanted to go to another SEC school and not outside the SEC to coach.

With the Tennessee job gone, I wonder where he will coach...the only major job that is open (I think, honestly I don't remember if they've found a replacement yet) is Washington. Syracuse has been so bad that I'm not even sure if it could be considered a major school anymore...but it does have history...

Tuberville plans on not coaching next year at all and will take some time off. I think he just wait for a job opening.

What was funny about the Tennessee job is, Brain Kelly was one of the top picks, but after the job was taken. He then said that he wasn't looking at other schools.

Which he was, but only the Tennessee job.

Edit: Wash now has a coach.

Oh, rebuilding years are painful, especially when the involve true freshmen in key roles, but we have a Bowl Game!

Not as painful as transition years that start with insanely high expectations only to be ruined in the second week...and you'd think I would have learned by now...

You would think you would have learned... the year you were born? XD There is a reason all my Dad's WVU stuff is ancient.

And for your amusement, select bits form SI.com on the bowl games.

1. BCS National Championship Game (Jan. 8): Oklahoma (12-1) vs. Florida (12-1). Two phenomenal QBs, Sam Bradford and Tim Tebow, could stage a championship duel for the ages. Or the Gators could pull off another 41-14 drubbing. Think we'd ever hear the end of that?

14. Hawaii (Dec. 24): Hawaii (7-6) vs. Notre Dame (6-6). C'mon, admit it. You know you'll be watching. If the Fighting Catholics can't end their nine-game bowl losing streak against a WAC team on Christmas Eve ... they may be running out of options.

19. Music City (Dec. 31): Boston College (9-4) vs. Vanderbilt (6-6). Vandy's first bowl trip in 26 years is dampened a bit by the fact that a) The Commodores don't even get to leave their own city and b) They're already 0-2 against the ACC this season*.
*Insert evil cackle here.

23. Insight Bowl: Kansas (7-5) vs. Minnesota (7-5). Two years ago, Minnesota suffered the biggest collapse in bowl history -- blowing a 38-7 lead to Texas Tech -- in this same game. Maybe I should move this one up the list just in case.

25. Liberty (Jan. 2): East Carolina (9-4) vs. Kentucky (6-6). The Pirates burst out of the gate with upsets of Virginia Tech and West Virginia, then went in the tank, then rebounded to win Conference USA. Kentucky stayed evenly *mediocre throughout.
*YAY! We no longer actively suck!

26. PapaJohns.com (Dec. 29): Rutgers (7-5) vs. N.C. State (6-6). You know your bowl is fairly low on the totem pole when ESPN schedules it for 3 p.m. on a random Monday. Apparently the World Poker Tour is off for the holidays.

31. St. Petersburg (Dec. 20): USF (7-5) vs. Memphis (6-6). Give this inaugural game credit for one thing: It caused me to look up what exactly "magicJack" (the game's title sponsor) is. Ladies and gentlemen: This bowl is sponsored by a phone jack.

32. *Motor City (Dec. 26): Central Michigan (8-4) vs. Florida Atlantic (6-6). Bowl director Ken Hoffman said choosing FAU from among four 6-6 teams was "a very difficult decision because all were very close in terms of what they had to offer" -- as in, almost nothing.
*Fill in joke about the state of Detroit here.

34. Independence (Dec. 28): Louisiana Tech (7-5) vs. Northern Illinois (6-6). The Shreveport, La., game has deals to land the No. 7 team from the Big 12 and No. 8 team from the SEC. Some years, that gets you Alabama-Colorado, some years, that gets you ... this.

I don't know, your team lost to my Tennessee team and that not a good sign.

Any every Tennessee fans knows that we suck very bad this year.

But Kentucky is a young team and I don't think they are going to be bad at all and look at this way, they go to a bowl game, we don't.

I'm glad to see this game come true. I will be pulling for Hawaii, as much as I'm catholic. I'm a fan of Hawaii and just can't root for the other team, other then if Hawaii was playing Tennessee and Georgia Tech.

We played them:
-at home
-last game of the season
-final game of the coach
-undefeated against us, all 27 times
-with our teams best players injured

We had no chance. XD

According to everyone who was actually concious that year, we would have won that game had Major Harris not been injured!

There was also 93...however I was 4 then and didn't really watch football. Really the entire Nehlen era could be listed as one giant lesson in failing to reach expectations especially when it came to bowl games...eh, at least we beat USF this year...
