The War of Ages

Postby Kamille » Fri Nov 21, 2008 11:27 am

Greetings,

I just finished the first chapter of the novel I am writing and I would like to hear what some in the Christian anime world think about it. The entire novel is a sci-fi war epic, but it's focal points are spiritual, psychological, and relationship-based. Why is it on a Christian anime website? Mostly because much of my inspiration comes from the Bible and anime, particularly Zeta Gundam, Nausicaa and the Valley of the Winds, and Rurouni Kenshin.

I think all you need to know is that in this chapter one man wanders a desert wasteland alone seeking to run away from his past - a past from which he can never escape. And that I think this is probably PG-13 for violence and mild language.

It's a bit long, but I hope you like it.

"I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?" - Christ the Lord (John 11:25-26)

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. - James 1:2-4.

After looking at it again, I'm changing the rating to PG-15

You want to know what I think? I think you've got something good here.

This is the first time in a long time that I've seen such a professional-quality piece of writing on an internet forum, that's for sure. You most definitely know what you're doing. The action flows along smoothly. The descriptions of surroundings and everything are detailed enough to paint a good picture, yet they're not overly verbose.

I'm really interested to see where the story is going. I definitely noticed some hints of Christian themes, and I want to see how far you're going to take it.

Yes, this is pretty good. Good descriptions, good atmosphere. Definitely got potential. Good luck with this.

Thank you both for your time and quality input. I thank God for both of you. If you don't mind, pray that this story will bring God glory.
