Hey, another mecha fan! Wow! I like Gundam (as evidenced by my avatar) and my fiance and I are slowly working our way through Daitarn 3. Haran Banjou is pretty awesome; he might end up on my list when all is said and done. XD My fiance's also a big fan of L-Gaim.

Alex Rowe (Last Exile)
Porque, you ask? Alex Rowe, while being incredibly attractive for an anime character, isn't your typical handsome face and mysterious figure. He's dark and brooding and dashing, true. But he doesn't get the girl. He doesn't want her. His obsession with revenge ruins his life and any potential to reciprocate the feelings that his Vice Captain has for him. He's a tragic figure - a 'man of few words and even fewer smiles'. I love Alex because he's more real than a lot of the darker guys of anime. He's very, very flawed, and those flaws don't get resolved. And I love his pants. I want them.
Bear (.hack//SIGN)
For some reason, I just love this guy. He's also flawed, but one of the most mature characters of the series, and by far my favorite. I poignantly remember his conversation about hands and about how our cells are constantly dying on our fingers so they don't fuse together. It had a point that I don't remember now, but I remember liking the point.
Kino (Kino no Tabi)
She's just awesome, okay? I love her. Not much else to say.
