Spiral

I know some other people on this site are fans of the Spiral anime. Who else likes the anime and has read some of the manga?

I've seen a bunch of the episodes in a marathon on Funimation channel. I really like it and I thought about buying it but then I heard that the anime doesn't answer a lot of the basic questions and that the manga got discontinued.

I borrowed half of the series and loved every minute of it. I'd love to finish it someday, although I hear the manga is a million times better due to the ending.

I started that series, but stopped for some unknown reason ^^ I enjoyed it, though ^^ I'm looking to pick back up on it :)

Well, I know the manga was finished in Japan, and they've translated at least three issues. I hope they're working on the rest. As for the anime, no the basic questions aren't answered, but it's still totally worth it.

Who is your all favorite character? Mine is Ayumu and Kanone, if any of you saw episodes with Kanone.

I forget most of their names because I haven't seen it in awhile, but I like all of the characters. They all seem to fit a stereotype but then you see a completely different side to them which is one thing that makes the series interesting.

I'm sorry to be Mr. Negativity, but I have to say that I didn't enjoy Spiral all that much. Granted, it could be that I only caught the odd volume here and there at the library, but what I did see didn't hold my attention all that much. There was a few moments when it looked like I would get into it, but for the most part it's not on my "Ye gods, I must see more!" list

Though, I have to admit, the V/A cast is actually pretty solid and matches the characters really well.

I really did like it. Since I liked Case Closed, I knew I would enjoy Spiral.

Too bad there really aren't that many mystery anime out there because that's one of my favorite genres.

I'll have to read it, then. I had been wondering if I should. ^_^ But I really enjoy a good mystery, and - well - what can I say? I'm rather obsessed with the name Spiral. x3; *pokes sig* I'm writing a book called Spiral of Atlantis, after all.

Even though I doubt the series has anything to do with time-traveling Atlanteans. XDD

I enjoy a good mystery as well and Spiral sets up a very intriguing setting with some very compelling characters and a enthralling dark secret none of which does it ever bother to resolve.

Loved the setting and loved the characters – it was a lot of fun to watch, but the lack of answers to the questions that the plot and complication were based on left a very hollow feeling for me.

I'm not really one, mind you, that requires every little plot string to be tied up in the end - as long as the show deals with the basic premise, it's OK to leave some things dangling, but this show is just over the top. If they didn't want to define who the cursed children were and why they were cursed, then don't ask the audience those questions in every single episode and focus the series on the questions you will answer.

Seen the anime read the manga and welll...

the anime is just an intro to the manga. You gotta read the manga to get the answers.

I liked it quite a bit but its not an all time fav for me!
