Nintendo wrote:Nintendo’s upcoming Wii MotionPlus accessory for the revolutionary Wii Remote controller again redefines game control, by more quickly and accurately reflecting motions in a 3-D space. The Wii MotionPlus accessory attaches to the end of the Wii Remote and, combined with the accelerometer and the sensor bar, allows for more comprehensive tracking of a player’s arm position and orientation, providing players with an unmatched level of precision and immersion. Every slight movement players make with their wrist or arm is rendered identically in real time on the screen, providing a true 1:1 response in their game play. The Wii MotionPlus accessory reconfirms Nintendo’s commitment to making games intuitive and accessible for everyone. Nintendo will reveal more details about the Wii MotionPlus accessory and other topics Tuesday morning at its E3 media briefing.

I hope the force unleashed has support.

Yea, The Clone Wars: LightSaber Duels.
(I believe that this will have something to do with that game)

Hopefully they will package these things in some games as well, which will eliminate a bigger price on them.

The wii adds many things to it daily, I am still waiting til the Wii Fit's get a bit cheaper and easier to find.

But Im sure their are much more possibilities with this Wii MotionPlus.

Now here's the question. Will it work only for specific games that are designed for it, or will it improve the accuracy of all games using the accelerometer?

I think the former is probably more likely, but it's impossible to know.

This would be great in something like Super Swing Golf.

Probably specific games, because I don't see any Nunchuck support, and alot of games use a format fit for the inaccurate Wiimote, but you and I can hope I'm wrong.

The Motion Plus has a bottom port for the Nunchuck, so I think it will be used for many games.

I think, they are adding to just to give the wiimote more maneuverability with whatever is on the screen, like a sword moving 1:1 ratio. SO your movements will be interpreted onto the screen.

Most likely in the future they might dismiss this product by making a new wiimote, that has this built into the controller.

We will have to see, and your so right about golfing, this could add more elements to the actual games. Like keep your club straight for one thing. Putting you much more on the actual green...!!!!!

Spoken like a true Wii master, that is what she is as well!
This girl can game, and I mean she can game! HEHE

And she beats me up at Light Saber dueling outside ! hehe.

Yea, I guess working with something more sensitive could be a problem for something that shakes. There might be some new settings for the sensitivity, well at least you think there would be.

I hope the package it with some sort of Wii Sports or something.

This explains the technology which is outstanding.

[quote="Invensense"]INVENSENSEâ„¢ IDG-600 MOTION SENSING SOLUTION SHOWCASED IN NINTENDO'S NEW Wii MotionPlus ACCESSORY

World's Leading Multi-axis MEMS Rate Gyroscope Enhances Performance of Latest
"Wii MotionPlus" Accessory

SUNNYVALE, Calif., July 15, 2008 – InvenSense Inc., a leading provider of MEMS-based motion sensing solutions for image stabilization, dead reckoning navigation, 3D remote control, and gaming devices, today announced that its IDG-600 multi-axis MEMS rate gyroscope has started shipping in mass production quantities to Nintendo for its Wii MotionPlus accessory. Gesture based interfaces are quickly becoming the standard for many feature-rich consumer electronic products. Utilizing InvenSense’s unique motion sensing capabilities, customers of the new generation of Wii MotionPlus controllers will enjoy an immersive gaming experience with motion control never before possible in a video game. The Wii MotionPlus accessory attaches to the end of the Wii Remote and, combined with the accelerometer and the sensor bar, allows for more comprehensive tracking of a player's arm position and orientation. In the new Wii Sports Resort product from Nintendo, for example, the ability to throw a disc through the air and control the angle of flight is now possible.
Conventional MEMS gyroscopes, which are the key enabling technology that can sense absolute rotational motion inputs, are typically used in commercial automotive electronic stability control and GPS applications, where their larger size, high power consumption and costs are accommodated. InvenSense has introduced an entirely new class of high performance silicon-based MEMS rate gyroscopes that offers smaller package sizes, lower power consumption, and lower price points suitable for consumer markets. The addition of InvenSense’s multi-axis rate gyroscope solution to the Wii MotionPlus accessory allows high precision 3D tracking of rapid gaming gestures.
“The popularity of Wii in large part is based on its popular motion sensing interface and InvenSense’s MEMS rate gyroscope represents a truly disruptive technology that possesses inherent manufacturing and high performance advantages that drives the need for a new generation of Wii Remote,â€

Well, I still maintain that this is a veiled admission on Nintendo's part that they fouled up with the stock controllers, but at least they're doing something about it. Maybe now we'll see a better guns-and-swords game - you know, like Red Steel, only well-executed.

Yea I mean you can't make something perfect, so at least they are getting it up to par, were it should be at least.

Red Steel 2 just think what they can do.

Thing is, it would be easier for you to beat people. They wouldn't be able to predict your next attack!
You're not alone. I have shaky hands, too. It's a miracle that I'm able to draw.

I hope they're able to pull it off. I was pretty disappointed in all the games that you were supposedly able to actually fight.

LOL, that is true, with the blade shaking to the left and right, one wouldn't know.

But, I think games like Force Unleashed for the Wii is going to be amazing. The fact we are the only ones with a duel mode as well, that looks spectacular no lie, watching the gameplay of the wii!

Look at Conduit as well, that is awesome.

I might even think about getting Animal Crossing when it comes out, i think FairyPrincess would love it!

Mario Kart Wii would be nice to actually find! lol!

but, i want to make a official Wii talk thread.
