My fondest RPG memories on the SNES are with Chrono Trigger (Final Fantasy VI being a close second)...I'm relatively sure that the day my parents bought it for me I didn't stop playing until the game was finished. Day and night, night and day. Thank goodness it was the summertime! Years later Chrono Cross stood on its own as a worthy sequel, though it certainly could've been better in certain areas. Still, I have yet to really find a gem that truly shines the way the original game does.
So far, they've confirmed a few details: namely that game will be touched up with a new dungeon (with possible new enemies/items), and added stylus capabilities of some sort. *sigh* Would it be too much to ask that if they decide to overhaul the game's beautiful Toriyama art....that they keep to 2D? As opposed to low polygon-count 3D like the rest of Square's latest remakes? (Not hatin' on those too much, though. They'll be mine, too...

What do you guys think? Anything you think they should change/keep/throw in?
PS...I'd also love to hear stories of anyone's experiences playing the original. How old you were, how it impacted you, etc.
