I didn't enjoy the Transformers movie. I wanted more story and screen-time for the transformers, and that Cube thing is a lousy MacGuffin.

I wanted more Megan Fox time. Maybe if they had just included the Transformers and Megan Fox the entire movie, it would have been better. I still enjoyed it.

Hmmm. If the movie was made by art-house director Erich Rohmer the movie would basically consist of Shia, Megan Fox and Optimus Prime discussing stuff around various locales in France and not much happening, most likely while watching paint dry.

I have also been known to name drop Tremors at fancy dinner parties.

Yes, all of them. The television series, all of it.

As long as Megan Fox was in most of the scenes, I'd be okay with it.

Also, Fish? Tremors? SERIOUSLY? HIGH FIVE! They just get worse and worse, and it's so awesome...I love the first one, though.

My dad loves the Tremors movies but I have yet to watch any of them.

Oh, and some people consider Moulin Rouge to be an awful movie, but I love it to death. XD

I'm also a big fan of Pocahontas II. Never mind that John Smith is completely out of character from the first movie. I liked John Rolfe. :sweat:

Also:
-Kid in King Arthur's Court
-Kid in Aladdin's Palace

Both are so very hokey, but immensely quotable.

And finally, Turtles II: Secret of the Ooze. Two words: Vanilla Ice.

Hot AND slimy looking, I'd say! Rachael was very attractive, too. Her accent was just lovely.

And an awesome main theme.

Oh, Mortal Kombat was off the hook! Sure, the story was cheesy, but it was based on a fighting game that didn't have much story depth to begin with. Visually though, it was pretty much spot-on, except Rayden looked wrong and didn't fight and Goro was basically a midget in a giant suit. Overall though, it was great.
MK: Annihilation had the characters represented fairly well, but it just all felt like too much for one martial arts movie.
Still, both of them beat the heck out of the Street Fighter movie. Which reminds me, my friends and I once watched DOA just for kicks. It was really bad. We couldn't stop laughing.

Whaaat, really? That was a great movie, even Oscar-nominated (and don't give me the rant about the Academy, everyone; this was before they started to suck XD). But yeah, Moulin Rouge was fantastic on a lot of levels, whether it was acting, visuals, story, or music. I really enjoyed it. XD

*shoots you*

I liked Transformers; the thing that annoyed me the most was the whole dragged out sequence where Shia was looking for the glasses in his house, and the transformers were screwing around in the back yard, and the whole subplot of the stupid US goverment being all "thats classified" and treating the main characters like they were criminals or something, when they were all on the same side anyway. They probably could have saved 20 minutes or something if the goverment agents had just told the kid what they wanted in the first place.

I've liked all of M. Night's movies, EXCEPT the Sixth Sense *hides*. I thought it was overrated.

Tremors was AWESOME!!! I like them all, but the first one is a classic. I got the special edition DVD package with all 4 movies. I heard the series is finally going to get a DVD release.

To clarify, only the first three movies chronologically are bad (Phantom, Clones, and Sith). The other movies (Hope, Empire, Jedi) are cheesy but awesome. Even if Mark Hamill couldn't act, he still could act better than Hayden Christensen.

On Star Wars: Should've known that I should choose my words carefully when talking about Star Wars :eyeroll: Okay, so the movies have good themes and character progression and stuff. Basically, this is the way I see it:

Story = :)

Execution = :(

And yes, Phantom Menace is my favorite episode. Personally, I don't see what there is about the original trilogy that makes them so much better, other than nostalgic value and how amazing the effects were in those days.

Mister Frodo (post: 1229845) wrote:And I've heard of people who didn't like Signs. I wouldn't put that in my list of bad movies that I like, though, for two reasons: One, it's not a bad movie, and two, I think Signs is an amazing movie. It's one of the few movies I've seen where silence is terrifying.

O.O Oh dude, YES. I never knew silence could be so terrifying either. Or breezes. Or rustling. Or thumps. Signs is my favorite Shyamalan movie (probably because it was the first one I saw, but anyway). It was also the first movie I saw that came very close at all to a horror movie. I love how Shyamalan didn't have to show the aliens to make it frightening (in fact, I think they were more frightening because you never saw them until the end). Thus, every horror movie I've seen after that (and there haven't been very many) has fallen short of inducing the same kind of fright in me.

I have to admit... I also cried during the first Pokemon movie. One movie that I'll also admit I enjoyed (as a kid anyway) was the live action Super Mario Bros. movie. And looking back now....it was horrible. But that's just my opinion.

Mirror Mask. Probably the most painful thing I've ever sat through. Loved the story, though, even if the movie did fry my eyes.

Jumper. Sure, there were plot holes big enough to park the astrodome in, but who cares? There were shiny special effects.

Yes, it's awesome. It contained the best joke about bunny slippers I've ever heard. But the CG still hurt to watch.

It was meant to be flat and super-stylized. If you've ever seen a Dave McKean painting, the movie looks like one of those brought to life.
