Hmm, I just meandered into walmart around 7:30 yesterday evening and picked up a copy. They had about 20 copies left, so there doesn't seem to be any sort of shortage. Haven't had much time to really dig into it but it's been fun so far. Out of the new characters so far I think I like Pit the best.
I'd be interested in a CAA tourney. :D

This game is a major improvement over melee in many ways. I used to play as marth and falco in melee, now I play Ike and Snake in brawl. For the first time, the heavy characters have a serious chance against the light and fast ones. It's great!

As a sidenote, I was really impressed with the way gamespot handled the midnight release. I was the very last person in line, and I got my copy at 12:08, eight minutes after the people who had waited in line for three hours.

My internet is sketchy, and I haven't tried the online mode yet, but otherwise I would love to participate in a CAA tournament.

I'm curious as to why Snake is available right from day one and not an unlockable. That would make more sense to me.

Logic. In an Nintendo game.

He is an unlockable, he's just on the back of the box along with Sonic. :P

Snake is unlockable. In fact he is the fourth character that I have unlocked.

EDIT: Darn, it looks like I am not the quickest draw around here.

Huh.

My friend snatched up the game during the midnight rush, and by the time I joined him roughly an hour later, Snake was already available in multiplayer. I assumed an hour was too soon to unlock someone of Snake's caliber (or any "Bonus" third party character), so I thought he was on the starting list.

Looks like I called it wrong.

PS: I'm sorry if I'm freaking people out by this but I really want this game. Just watch, my Mom may have already bought the game and I'm screaming over nothing.

Well, it didn't come to that. We waited patiently (okay, patiently AND impatiently) and went through with picking it up this morning.

I must say, I'm still pretty impressed. Fox is actually too slow in this game for my taste, and I seem to be doing well as
Marth. ^_^
I built an interesting stage called "Iced Spree" (pun on "Iced Tea") and think it will be fun to try out.

And we need to play about 6 more rounds of Classic before we unlock
Sonic!!!!!! *dances*
who may very well become my best character. Either him,
Marth, or Pit.
I dunno at the moment.

And the music selection is awesome. So much great music, and you can block out the ones you find annoying/somehow displeasing. So far, a few of my favorites are the Mushroomy Kingdom Overworld Theme and the Animal Crossing: Wild World Main Theme Medley.

And thank you Slater...I should check that before we do any more work on the game.

I'm also open to the tournament idea...I didn't do too well on the Pokemon tournament, but this should be a little more my speed.

Wow, I was finally able to get a Wii yesterday(We never expected to actually find one after about two years.). And to my surprise SSBB was there as well! So I wasted no time in buying it. My friend and I love the SSB series. And he really wants to play SSBB. So far the game is wonderful, I haven't really gotten that far into adventure mode yet but Im getting there.

How long is it? You or anyone?

Because I have a thing for single player modes, but all my friends with the game probably wouldn't let me play it exclusively for long.

I really like it. It's too long to sit and play in one session, but it actually reminds me of a kirby game. I plan on playing it again, only over the course of a couple weeks.

A couple of random thoughts...

One, that coin launcher thing is actually more fun than I thought it would be. Go figure.

Two, I'm getting really sick of this whole find random CDs to increase your music collection crap. In the first place, they hardly ever appear, and in the second place, they vanish so freaking fast that by the time I see it it's disappearing! Hey Sakurai, you moron, next time you want us to collect items to unlock stuff in the game, HOW ABOUT NOT MAKING THEM DISAPPEAR AFTER FIVE SECONDS?

Three, Cruel Brawl is literally impossible. The enemies can send you flying at 0% damage. Looks like the only way to win that "Beat 5 enemies in Cruel Brawl" trophy is by using a Gameshark. Oh well.

And that's it, I think. As far as characters go, I've unlocked a couple. Ike sucks, Pit is cool but I can't do much with him, haven't really tried to play as Olimar, and Meta-Knight is awesome but can't knock enemies off the stage to save his life.

I whole heartedly disagree. He has turned out to be my favorite character in brawl, and with him I win more matches than not. He is very slow, but his power more than makes up for it. He is strongest on multi-level stages (I.E. not final destination) where his lack of projectiles aren't as much of a disadvantage.

As for moves, many of them are too slow to use until you have racked up a bunch of damage. For opening attacks, a short hop to back arial attack works great; there is almost no lag, and the move is fast and strong. Another great move is the dash attack, after you have used it several times, the knockback is lowered, and you can frequently chain together multiple dash attacks. The third great move is the forward b attack. When fully charged it has gigantic range that really throws people off guard.

Also his up b is useful because it has a few frames of super armor (no knockback) when you start it up. His down b is also handy if you can time it right, because it does 1.2x the knockback and damage of whatever hits him. The a-a-a combo is also surprisingly effective, Ike is one of the few people who can do enough knockback with it to stop people from punishing you immediately afterword. Also, don't forget to use grabs! Ike is slow, so making use of his fast grabs is essential. If you dash and then turn immediately the opposite direction and grab while you are turning, your grab range is much larger.

Ike may be slow, but he doesn't suck. He might not be the easiest character to play with from the get go, but with a little practice he is quite deadly.

P.S. I unlocked Sonic, and he is surprisingly fun. He is kind of like meta knight, he has lots of good combo attacks, but few ko moves.

I agree with ich. I haven't had much of a chance to thoroughly explore Ike's moveset and abilities yet, but from what I've played of him so far, he certainly doesn't suck. I actually prefer him over Marth. To me his power more than makes up for his slowness, and he's not as bulky and awkward as, say, Bowser.

I still think Pit is my favorite of the newcomers (the ones that I have played so far). Using his light arrows is a lot of fun, and his up B, wings of icarus or whatever it's called, is quite useful. I like how they equiped him with the 3 treasures from the original game.

I just unlocked every single character now. Woot.

Meta-Knight is a really weak but fast hitter. He can rack combos quickly but he can't do any mid-percentage kills at all, hence why I don't like playing as him at all. I really like Ike. He's a tad slow, but has some quick movies. His recovery attack has a long range and his smash is deadly. One may even argue that Ike is broken and is overpowered. I enjoy using him, but I have a hard time getting accustomed to him because I generally play with fast characters over strong ones.

And my favorite new character is probably Wolf. He's more towards the slow side, but his attacks are above-average, he can kill enemies at mid-percentages, and has a good spike. The major downside to him is that his aerial up-A isn't as good as Fox/Falco's.

I enjoy brawling with Pit. He's a tad on the slow(-ish) side, but still a fairly useful character with a good saving technique. His side-B move is borderline cheap territory, though.

I haven't had much time to play, but my favorite newcomers so far are Ike and Lucas. Even though his moves are nearly identical to Ness', I just seem to play better with Lucas. I can't get the hang of Olimar though....

Hey, that sounds like fun. Well, lets see, you insulted my favorite character without giving a reason, so I guess it is my turn. Pit sucks.

No hard feelings.

EDIT: In case you were wondering, yes I am taking this personally. I have no self-importance outside of this game. To insult Ike is to insult my lifestyle, nay the very core of my being!

I got mine at the midnight launch at GameStop. :)
This game is really cool.
The characters are pretty cool here's some of the new ones I like so far:
Ike- He's very powerful, especially in the hands of an expert.
Pit- He's not very power full, but he isn't easily knocked out thanks to his wings.
Meta Knight- His B attack is very use full against bosses and other opponents.
Zero Suit Samus- She's very fast and I enjoy using her out of the suit.
Wario- He so off the wall. Atomic farts rule!

I was also in the Tournament, which was fun. :)
Here's a clip of me from Tournament if you wanna check it out.

Meta Knight seems to be my character of choice. He may not have power, but I just find something satisfying about the "clink-clink-clink" whenever I attack.

Geez, don't you people have school or something? XD I work an eight hour job and I've been playing Brawl practically every spare minute I'm not at work and I'm still nowhere close to the end of SSE.

Also, man. I do NOT like the changes they made to Samus. She's just really awkward to use now. She can't jump to save her life, and she's so SLOW. Yeah, I know, they changed it so that Zero Suit Samus would have a more definite speed advantage, but still.

Also, you know what? After using them for a couple of Event matches and in the SSE stage, I love Ice Climbers. They're fantastic. I don't know if maybe they tweaked them a bit since Melee but dang, they're becoming favorites of mine.

Also a couple of other notes. Yoshi is still the king of Home Run Contests, got the 1500 feet requirement with ease. There was also a video off of the WFC with two Pits doing the Home Run contest and they managed to send that thing flying 1045 meters (almost 3450 feet).

I also found a really neat trick on Cruel Brawl that I might have to try (though the comments say that it isn't as easy as it looks...even so).
