So I guess you would have no problem with censoring the Bible then, right?

ANYWAYS:eyeroll:

I would have to say that Pale Folklore and The Mantle are my favorite Agalloch cds.

It's called context. Take note of it.

Or you could simply decide to follow the rules and not disrupt the thread any further, without mouthing off to me, even.

You knew the rules when you joined the site. If you don't want to follow them, no one's forcing you to post here.

Further discussion of this, if any more is to be made, should be taken to PM.

One simple solution is to continue to post like this in a thread where MULTIPLE mods have asked you to keep things on target. Complete disregard for the staff's attempts to keep discussions on topic will result in a permanent ban; two birds, one stone.. If you have a problem with the moderation - TAKE IT TO PM.

That seems like an attempt to get back on topic to me.

Oh and I forgot to mention Nile as another good (and fairly accessible) example of death metal.

Do you like Winds of Plague, Eric?

Oh, and have you heard Agalloch's old demos?
I'm listening to "This Old Cabin" right now.
Pretty sweet.

It's sloppy compared to their recent work but it's awesome.
I also adore their split with Nest.

Very soothing.
I'm still on vacation in Vermont in a Lodge and listening to these songs seems so well-placed.

I already said that I've listened to Agalloch's demos.

I find Winds of Plague to be quite horrible. Actually, pretty much all deathcore disgusts me. The only ones I like are Beneath the Massacre, Animosity, Despised Icon, Dim Mak, Cryptopsy (Whisper Supremacy and And Then You'll Beg; those were released when they had the hardcore vocalist), The Red Chord, and Ion Dissonance.

Question? The band Messuggah(sp?) would be considered what kinda of metal? I think they sould like a heavier version of Static X (vocal wise not music wise)

Meshuggah is technical post-thrash. You should also check out Fredrik Thordendal's Special Defects, Tesseract, and Textures if you like them.

I definitely agree that the Red Chord and Ion Dissonance are way (to the max) better than Winds of Plague, Eric. I haven't listened to the others. I only pretty much hear whatever the local booking agency gets to play here because I don't usually go looking for the stuff. I don't think they're absolutely terrible (it all kind of starts to sound the same after a while...I like the synth, though), per se, but the lyrics are so bad and TRC and ID are better musicians.

I still haven't heard The Red Chord's new album. Some seem to like it, but a couple of my friends didn't care for it. :| I'm not sure who I trust. On the one hand, a lot of reviewers are stupid but on the other hand, my friends have steered me wrong before. Also, the guest cameos are awesome. The guys from Job for a Cowboy and Converge? Sweeeet.
I'm a shoe-in for hater of the year.

Metal Archives, posting on the http://www.ultimatemetal.com forum (they have some of the most knowledgeable people I've come across; most people I know can't direct me to anything I haven't already heard, so I have to go there for recommendations), looking up related artists on last.fm, browsing metal blogs, etc. I've been listening to metal for about six years now.

I love Beneath the Massacre and the Red Chord.
I've seen Animosity because I went to see my favorite band, Between the Buried and Me, was supposed to play, but they bailed.
They were pretty good.

Winds of Plague to me is one of those bands that is "sick" at first listen then you suddenly realize, "Meh..."

Funny it took me so long to discover them. XD

Yeah, Eric, I recommend old In Flames.
Only the first three albums, though.

You might like "Colony" for all I know, but I'll play it safe and say listen up till "Whorracle."
