Well for me, the whole sticker system is what's bugging me the most. It's making the game feel too complex. =\ Kind of like Jump Ultimate Stars or something.

Well the good news is that the stickers are only used for the Adventure Mode. So it's not like it has any relevance to regular multiplayer. And I doubt it would be impossible to beat Subspace Emissary without stickers. I think that part is mostly meant to appeal to newer gamers and help them power their characters up a little. So while the stickers don't add to the game for me, I don't think they will detract either.

For me, and possibly for others (I can't speak for them), the problem isn't "They're putting on so much stuff that it'll take up too much room on the disc." The problem is that it takes time to put all this crap in the game, and that's contributing to the delays. In other words, the more time they take to put in useless nonsense like this "Masterpieces" junk, the longer it takes for us to get the game.

Maybe so, but personally I would rather have it delayed and have too much content than get here on time and not have enough content. For all we know, there are lots of other factors than the "useless extras" contributing to the delay

What bothers me is that it's a lot of complication for not much added value. Really, how much better do the stickers make adventure mode? If they want a leveling system, there are easier ways to do it. Or if they want complex, they could make different moves become stronger or weaker based on frequency and method of use. But the stickers? Eh, they seem pretty pointless.

We could hope that other, more important things are delaying the process (like level/character balancing or debugging) and they're just adding stuff meanwhile, but that's a stretch.

Ness confirmed to be back too, though I think that was established by Slater's earlier post.

Whoah. Iv'e got goosebumps.

Still, I can't help but wonder were Captain Falcon and Gannondorf are. I find incomprehensible that CF would be left out of Brawl, for goodness sake he was in the original smash. Same with Gannondorf, if the developers had enough time to put in three Kirby characters, then they should have enough time to put in three LoZ characters (I admit Sakurai is a bit biased towards Kirby though).

Finally, I am holding out hope for an online ranking system. I love the idea of playing against an unlimited number of human opponents; those lvl 9 computers are too cheap. However, I don't like the idea of fighting against random human opponents. If there was some way to filter possible opponents by skill, that would be awesome. The best fight is one that I just barely win, so fighting agianst someone with the same skill level as me is best. With plain ole' random fights, I fear that I will alternate between uber pwnaging and being uber pwnaged.

Actually I wouldn't be surprised if Ganondorf wasn't in the game. Remember that the creators of Brawl were against clone characters, and Ganondorf was just a Captain Falcon clone. Now, they might bring back Ganondorf with a different moveset, but I doubt it. Still, the lack of Captain Falcon IS quite odd. Not saying he's not in the game, but he's not in the intro video, and he hasn't been mentioned on the official site.

But the game is released in two days in Japan, apparently, so maybe some kind soul will import it and find out.

Wow, the internet blew up after that intro was leaked. Soon after, a ton of screens hit the net from people who already have the game. I uploaded a good many to my site:

Quite a few characters confirmed! Enjoy! :)
Looks like Capt. Falcon, Ganondorf, Falco, Luigi, Lucario(sp?), ROB, Jigglypuff, and possibly Wind Waker Link.
I think it was sheer luck that we got Sonic and Snake in there to begin with. Sheesh, they might as well complain that Cloud isn't in the game.

[Massive spoilers ahead]

It seems someone has beaten the game already and unlocked all the characters.

Edit: This image is fan made, although all of these characters to my knowledge have been confirmed. More details as they come.
It seems Ridley is only a boss and won't be a playable character. I'm a little upset over this, but the fact that Wind Waker Link, the character I've wanted to play as the most since the game's announcement, I honestly couldn't be happier. I'm personally glad that Dr. Mario and Pichu are gone, although I'm going to miss the Ocarina versions of both Link's.

Personally, I'm a bit upset that Geno's nowhere to be seen myself, but I'm a bit of a fangirl in that respect. Not angry over R.O.B., though. XD Best inclusion EVER.

Lucario? YES. The Cap'n? Glad he's finally showing up, and yay for Ganondorf and Falco too.

A little 'meh' on Windwaker Link, though he looks cute. |D And what the heck, Game and Watch again? DDDDD:

And now to convince everyone of my madness: I'm not surprised Pichu's gone, but I'll really miss the little guy.
Nate (post: 1195572) wrote:Oh yeah. All those people who said that Ike was replacing Marth and therefore Marth wasn't necessarily in the game...IN YOUR FACES. WOOOOO.

I was worried too, simply because Ike was the first FE character to pop up. Though I don't see how anyone could call him a replacement for Marth, since the way the two characters play seem vastly different.

As for Geno, I doubt they would be able to secure the rights. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if they tried but were denied. Let's just remember that as far as third party characters, it's not necessarily Nintendo's fault if they aren't in the game.

EDIT: I had hoped to see a certain stage, and sure enough, it appeared in Link Antilles' last screenshot!

Since Wind Waker introduced me to Zelda, this definitely makes me happy.
|D Personally, I wouldn't blame Nintendo at all.

I'd blame Squenix. Diddy's inclusion was a slight glimmer of hope. |D; Oh well. Geno will ride again some day.
You're actually going to miss Pichu? Well, I guess there's a fan for even the most disliked character. XD

It's still a mystery who character 35 is, if character 35 will even appear. So far we know of 34 but we're still waiting for more.

Gah, the anticipation is killing me. It seems the Game & Watches are controlling the Halbird. Is this a sort of old vs. new theme in the SEE? We continue to wait and see.

NOOOOOOOOOOO! CAPTAIN FALCON'S FINAL SMASH ISN'T THE FALCON PUNCH! He just jumps in his car and runs over people. *severe disappointment that will subside in 5 minutes*
In response to Alex:
There have to be 35 characters. If you notice in the pictures, the more characters there are, the more characters from the same games line up. With 34 characters, the Pokemon and Mother characters are off. That means there must be another character between Dedede and Lucario. That spot is under the Star Fox characters, so it might be another character from that series. Apparently a lot of people are saying it's Wolf, but there doesn't seem to be any proof yet.
Hey all, sorry for being the idiot noob who doesn't read 22 pages of posts, but does anyone know if Pokemon Trainer's color changes will be different trainer characters? I heard a rumor that the color changes would change him to Ruby or Sapphire (instead of Fire/Red), and while I'm skeptical, I really really hope that this is true (although honestly? I would totally prefer getting Emerald-clothes Ruby and Berlitz/Dawn). Red is an awesome character, but I'd like to play as one of the female characters~

RE:Alexander
I picked Pichu up as a joke originally, but he's become one of my favorite characters to play. Obviously he'll never be as good as my Marth or my Sheik, simply because Nintendo gimped the heck out of the little guy, but I can take out pretty good Falcons and Foxes with him. Playing Pichu is really a matter of keeping him on the stage (with DI, down cancel, and quick attack, I can keep him alive up 'til the 200% neighborhood), not throwing out too many of his electrical attacks, and working around his dismal range.

Also, his up smash can kill at 70-80%. He's not a great character, but Pichu can be pretty underestimated sometimes. :3

Pichu is my 3rd favorite character to play as, merrr. I agree; people underestimate him, which works in his favor, because they don't expect you to pummel with him. >:D He is underpowered, but if you know how to use him well, he can be fairly effective. I'll miss him.

ich1990 wrote:"I admit Sakurai is a bit biased towards Kirby though."

Well, considering he's the one who created the original Kirby games and created the characters for them... I'd say that bias is a definite possibility.

Anyway, lovely spoilers. I'm a little disappointed that I haven't seen a few characters as of yet, but there's still hope. Aye, there's still hope.

I'm sad to hear that Pichu won't be returning, although it's not unexpected. I like playing with characters with interesting or different disadvantages. I hope there is an equivalent character to replace him.

All of the other stuff just makes me want the game more. I need it.

Hey, I like Mr. Game and Watch. :\ Granted I suck with him, but he's still a crazy cool character. XD

Second, I don't really believe much of what I see on the internet. There are some expert photoshoppers out there who have nothing better to do but start false rumors just for the heck of it. That said, I don't believe many of the screenshots I see, especially since most (if not all) of them are fan-made. I'm not denying there might be a 35th character, I'm simply saying I'm not sold on it.

OH, and finally. One last kick in the crotch to American Earthbound fans. Anyone notice that Mother 2 is in the "Masterpieces" section on the Japanese language version of the Smash Dojo, but not on the English language version? I'm seriously starting to think Nintendo hates American Earthbound fans. Like literally hates them with a seething rage. It's the only explanation for this crap.

I want to smash something. Preferably someone with the power to get Mother 3 to the US.

What I don't understand is why Nintendo ignores an easy sale when they get one. Many, many Americans have no idea where Ness (Or Lucas, for that matter) comes from. I'm certain that there are a large number of people willing to drop 8$ to find out. Along with the Earthbound fans that discovered it too late to throw many at it, that's a sizable sum.

This is one of those "free money" problems. It's something they want to keep in their back pocket for that rainy day.

With 31,000+ Earthbound fans waiting patiently, cash in hand, for an English port of Mother 3 (and Earthbound VC download), Nintendo of America clearly fails at life. That's an easy million, people.

Make that 31,001.

I just had a thought. With brawl being the first internet equipped smash game, why don't the game developers make new brawl characters and let people download them, kind of like they are doing with stages? It would take substantially more time to balance the char and all that than it would for a stage, but even if they released one new character every year it would be amazing. If they had too, they could make you pay $5 a piece for them or something. I would personally not have a problem paying $5 for Ridley or Wolf Link/Midna. It would be a good way to relieve deadline stress and at the same time make untold legions of fans happy.

While sitting in the bottom level of the library working on my programming assignment that's due tonight I felt the urge to look for Smash Bros stuff. Lo and behold I saw the leaked opening and was ecstatic. In addition, I found this little video and thought I'd share.

SPOILER ALERT: If you don't want to know about new characters or unannounced returning characters don't click on the link. If you just don't care and will take any reprieve from the arduous waiting for another month to dredge by, click on the link and smile. (The audio and sound are quite off, but they're still cool)

I believe one of PKMN tRainer's costume changes is a Black and white retro version.

While I think the roster looks awesome and am exicted, I am still dissapointed with the absence of Micaiah, Ray 01, Bowser Jr, Ridley, Geno, and Takamaru.

But it's still gonna be a awesome.
Okay, Toon Link looks like a lot of fun. Perhaps his fighting style will be a bit similar to Young Link's? It looks like he's a little bit floaty though, like when he jumps. Hmm. From what I've seen, his moveset looks very similar to Link's, but perhaps he'll have some Windwaker-centered attacks, like the Gale Leaf.
