Blender and Python

Postby Sammy Boy » Sat Jan 12, 2008 8:56 pm

Hi, just wondering if anyone here knows how to use Blender (http://www.blender.org), and script in Python?

Looking for good source of online tutorials.

Thanks. :)

The Blender site has links to a number of tutorials, including this one that I used when I was first starting out. There have been a lot of changes to Blender since I first learned but I can say that this site worked for me. I will also say, though, that actually doing the tutorials was crucial, because the rather unusual combination of keyboard and mouse operations meant that I couldn't just read the information and count on having it again when I needed it.

If I hadn't seen this under Computing, I would have had a very different impression of this thread's title.

Me too, F&C. I've actually never heard of blender before. Looks interesting. I'm not that into python, but it seems like a fun project.
