The biggest theory on why people are not watching Death Note is, due to the anime elistists group that will not touch anime that are on tv or dub with a 10 foot pole.

You mean the starting week of Jan 5th, right?

XDDD I meant to type January 2... ^^; That's what it says on the schedule.

Doh! Yeah, the 2rd of Jan.

Theory number 2. It's the Holiday Season...people are traveling, studying for finals....etc.

I do want to say that I do agree with this theory, because look at the ratings before Thanksgiving.

Before the Holiday Season

Oct 27

Futurama 535,000

The Boondocks 492,000

Blood + 303,000

Nov 3

Boondocks [3:00 am showing] 480,000

Boondocks [11:30 pm showing] 423,000

Futurama ( 11:00 pm showing) 407,000

Nov 10

Futurama 533,000

The Boondocks 483,000

Death Note 400,000

The start of the Holiday Season

Nov 24

Futurama 391,000

The Boondocks (11:30 pm) 369,000

The Boondocks (3:00 am) 299,000

Dec 1

Futurama 483,000

The Boondocks (11:30 pm) 424,000

The Boondocks (3:00 am) 269,000

The numbers have drop a good number. Now, not to say that the ratings are bad for DN, Bleach and Blood +, but it does show that comedy does beat anime.

I do feel that one of the those anime will be in the top three for Saturday night after the first of the year. I feel that the reason why Futurama is being very watch now is, it will be gone from Adult Swim after the first of the year. I don't know when the Comedy Channel will air any of the eps of Futurama. The bad thing is, this is a bit of a blow to Adult Swim, because comedy Channel will get Futurama and the new eps that will start sometime next year.

As everyone knows,

Sci Fi Channel Ani-Monday will air Blood: The Last Vampire movie at 11 pm.

Since the movie is not very long, Sci Fi channel will also air Dead Leaves OVA.

Here is what the lineup will look like.

Death Note will air in the 12:30 am time slot on Monday only and Shin Chan will air from Tue thru Fii in the 12:30 am time slot.

Bleach will air in the 1 am time slot on Monday only and Ghost in the Shell will air from Tue thru Fri in the 1 am time slot.

Well its good to see Bleach will return to AS. But will we finish Death Note in time? Or maybe they will do the same thing they did to Bleach, Inuyasha, and Samurai Champloo(Just cutting it midseason then bringing it back later.).

AS sure does love their FLCL.

At what time will Cowboy Bebop return to?

Death Note will be moved to 11:30 starting Jan 5th and Bleach reruns will air at 11 pm on the same day. That is where it will stay as for what they show and the new eps will air at 11 pm and Death Note at 11:30 pm, FMA 12 am and then Blood + at 12:30 am.

But this could change and Cowboy Bebop will not air untill late March.

I would bet that Code Geass will air probably in late April or early May.
It will probably end up in the 12:30 a.m. time slot after Bleach. But that's my prediction.

Whoa. That hasn't happened for a while. Almost puts you in the mind of the original Adult Swim--back in the Pilot Candidate, Gundam, Big O, Bebop, and Yu Yu Hakusho (cussing and all) days!

@ KBS-Yu yu Hakusho was and is one of my favorite anime. Yes, I do remember waiting each week to watch a new episode on a Saturday night, I think I was 11. Man, it was awesome. You know that first moment that you get into anime and as you continue to watch the shows, that it becomes very easy to forget the anime that got you into the anime realm in the first place. It was just so great, I didn't really know what the stuff was called, all I knew was that I enjoyed it!

@ Mechana- Anyways, yeah I figured out they had eventually moved Futurama to Comedy Central.

@ Mitsuki- Hmm, Ani-Tuesday. It sort of loses its thunder than Ani-Monday. I mean come on, if there going to extend anime to each day of the week they might as well call it the "Ani-Block". Its not that Im not grateful, its just that if people say there is an Ani-Monday and Ani-Tuesday, then why not Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Sat, and Sun? I dunno, it just seems odd and off-kilter.

Plus, they will run out of anime to show a lot faster.

So what are they trying to achieve by doing this. I mean, if it were me I would put it on air once a week so that not only am I stretching the show out so that it won't go by as fast but also to keep the viewers interest. Are they just trying to finish off of the Manga entertainment anime so that they can say that they ran it, or is it something else?

Nothing really for what I can see. The only way for this to really work, is if they get some airing rights from other anime companies. I mean they are going to show a number of anime OVA's or movies that Manga Entertainment has just in that month alone.

R.O.D. Read or Die OVA
Appleseed movie
Kai Doh Maru OVA, this one shocks me that they are going to show it.
X the movie.

I do find this funny. On February 27 at 3 am, Sci Fi Channel will air 1991 American live action remake of Guyver. This movie is very controversial, because it wasn't well like and because they change stuff in it that never happen in the Bio-Booster Armor Guyver manga. Plus the movie is is very bad and silly and will make you cry! XP

Also, I'm sorry that I haven't got around to updating the lineup for Jan. I had computer problems since Thursday and I have only been able to get on the net by another computer and I don't have my lineup lists on me, since they are on my computer. I should have my computer back tomorrow and I should have some of the lineups posted.

Looking at the numbers, why on Earth does the Boondocks do so well? I sat through about 2 minutes of an episode one time. If thats doing better then good anime, then its no wonder things are so messed up.

That's a question that I have always had on my mine for a long time. I have watch Boondocks a few times and I just don't like the show.

I did find the ratings for Saturday, Dec 29 and this is this not much of a shock.

Futurama (1:00am) 820,000

Futurama (12:30am) 817,000

Futurama (1:30am) 741,000

Replying to Roy's previous post-
Wow, there sure is a lot of competition there!

Well, I wonder either if mainly the majority of African Americans is watching the boondocks, is that some of us white folk who want to be cool so they watch Boondocks to find out how(Sorta like the show GoodTimes, except much vulgar with the emphasis on vulgar. Dynomite!), or is it because some people watch it just because its entertaining? Note: I don't really watch the Boondocks that often, but sometimes it is funny.... really though I don't think funny enough to outbeat anime. Yet there are more people who don't know what anime is and watch the Boondocks that used to sometimes come on before the anime portion of the night. I just found it weird that one time when many people watched it at 3:30 am rather than watching some Deathnote a few hours earlier.

Well rats!

Since the streaming video has been down for a few days on TAN. They did some some upgrades, but the bad news is, they took some of the anime that were showing.

Ah! My Goddess: Flights of Fancy
Air Gear
Kurau: Phantom Memory
Pani Poni Dash!
Utawarerumono

Are all gone from the list and they put some newer ones up.

This is for the top three highest rated Adult Swim programs for Saturday in the age group of 18-34

Jan 5

FMA 369,000

Death Note 328,000

Blood + 323,000

Well, thats not good. A rerun of a series out beats two premieres. But Death Note ratings are in the 300,000 range on Adult Swim Fix, so that's taking away from views for Sat night.

Bleach is going to have to be better, if they want to keep it at the 11 pm slot, yes its still in reruns. But this is not good sign for them, if they are going to air new eps in March at 11 pm.
