My mouse died |:

Postby Shao Feng-Li » Mon Jan 07, 2008 1:09 pm

I have a Logitech G5. Like two days ago, it started going on and off and now today it just seems dead. Anything I can do to fix it?

Seems the wire on the mouse end is loose, but there's no way to get into the friggin' thing.

Might simply be that the mouse end has taken damage in terms of the cable, which can be hard to fix.

Indeed. Nowdays it's better to buy a mouse. Unless of course it's one of those.

Dang that sucks XD

Hypothetical situation:

My wife complains that the DVD player isn't working.

My translation: Either she wants it fixed or she wants a new one. My solution? Well being the guy I am, I buy a new one XD

Nice, I was eyeing that mouse whilst I searched for the perfect one. However I was worried about its Mac compatibility.

I am sure it is an awesome mouse for Windows machines.

Actually, I had a similar problem with my Logitech G7 Laser Cordless mouse... It supported Swappable Batteries, but after almost a year of use, the batteries weren't holding a charge anymore.

I went online to Logitech's website and hit up their Customer Support. I sent an email about my problem, and they responded within hours.

They offered to replace the mouse for me, free of charge, but I declined in fear of the same thing happening again later on. I asked if there was some other mouse they could replace it with, and they offered me their latest Gaming Mouse, the Logitech G9 Corded Mouse.

All it cost me was one-way shipping to send them my busted mouse, and within three weeks, they had the G9 on my doorstep. The G9 is kind of Logitech's answer to the new MS Sidewinder, or vice versa :P. I really like the G9 though. It's amazing...

Anyways, I would definitely see what Logitech will do for you through their Customer Support, before you go buy a new mouse or chuck the old one away...

Ahhhhhhh.... Didn't even realize that was you... I thought it was someone else boastin' their 'wares... I might've caught on if it was "I got a Microsoft Sidewinder :D"

I guess that's what I get for scanning the topic :p

Sorry :hits_self

One day my Microsoft mouse was a bit dodgy (intermittent) with the cord. So I fixed it, and it worked. The end.

(Find the screw holes underneath the pad things... that are stuck on with adhesive. I found a repairing article with Google.)

I think she doesn't need any ideas on repairing, she has a new mouse.

Actually, I can answer this one. My girlfriend bought one one day in a manic fit. When we made her realize that she couldn't keep it because of her mother she tried to take it back, but couldn't. so... A friend offered to take it for her. As she was taking it to our friend's the mouse got free in her car. It lived there for three days. Jen found the only thing that could coax it out was Yo-Gos... which it would just take and run off with.

She did eventually get it out but it took awhile...
