Agreed with Nate. Last I knew, the anime tried to let on that Seiya was his own being altogether, but in the manga they're one in the same and Seiya is a woman.
Though I must admit, Naoko does amuse and annoy me in a way. I once read an interview where she explained why she had a lesbian relationship between Uranus and Neptune. In the end it boiled down to "I wanted people to know they can love each other too", but it got weird because she added something like "it was hard making two women love each other though, the only way I could is if the one basically acted like a man".
So you wanted to prove two women can love each other, but had to make one act like a man so it'd work out? Allllrighty Naoko...
