You are indeed correct. All the widgets and stuff are even more resource-efficient than 10.4

I actually want to play with a few of the other features of Leopard (time machine, etc) more than the spaces stuff (I use an Xwindows client already, so I've seen spaces for about 20 years).

I had a virtual desktop program on Tiger before I upgraded, I loved it, and so when I saw Spaces I was overjoyed, and of course it has Apple's typical sleek and snazzy design.

Since Vista is just a bad impression of OSX+, I don't want it, but I'm getting a laptop, so I may not have a choice without buying a new copy of XP...

Some companies will allow you to purchase Windows XP instead of Vista, I believe.

Namely Fujitsu and Hewlett Packard.

I went with dell, because HP wasn't in my price range. Hope I don't end up regretting it in a few months. Dell's poor customer service is legendary... I really wanted an Acer, but having no way of getting XP on there made it not worth it...

I had a choice: Reliable hardware, or reliable operating system that could run all my editor stuff (unreal editor, 3ds max, and all my adobe stuff) at a decent speed (Vista slows all those things down, and many things just don't work on UnrealEd)

And yet, Vista is the best OS available....

Microsoft needs to get their heads out of their butts.
