Any Shoujo Anime As Good As Ouran Koukou?

I REALLY want a good romance anime that is as good as Hatori Bisco's Ouran Koukou Hosuto-bu!

I've watched Fruits Basket and D.N.Angel, but I'd like a REALLY good heartwarming anime. I want something to watch besides the run-of-the-mill action show like Bleach or DeathNote.

Can anybody help me out, please?

Allow me to recommend Full Moon wo Sagashite. Basically, it's one of my all time favorite anime. It's a bit slow starting out, but if you stick through with it until the end, you'll most likely end up loving it. XD Also, check out Honey & Clover, if you can. It's not shoujo (rather, it's josei, the "older" version of shoujo), but I've really enjoyed what I've seen of it so far.

I second the Honey and Clover; just enough craziness, but not too much.

Unn, this isn't the right forum, but there's a manga called Koukou Debut, which I find extremely cute and romantic and it's very clean. :3 It doesn't require a lot of thinking, it's just a lot of fun. Hopefully they will make an anime out of it.

Then there was this other one about a girl who was thought to be ugly and these four bishounen have to beautify her. I dunno, I like stories about ugly girls. C: I forget the title though.

Oh, I've heard of that one. It's called "The Wallflower," as I recall. I haven't read it, but I saw it in the bookstore a few days ago and read over the synopsis. XD

The Place Promised In Our Early Days.

It's not a complete love story, but one of the themes is. And in my opinion it's the best of the best if you're looking for a pure love story.

I second the recommendation for The Place Promised in Our Early Days. If you enjoy that, you'll probably want to try out both Voices of a Distant Star and 5 Centimeters Per Second (they have the same director as Place Promised).

I also highly recommend Kaleido Star. It doesn't have a lot of romance in it, but it's still a great series, and it's very heartwarming.

I'll also go ahead and third the recommendation for Honey and Clover.

Because...it was either that or Fruits Basket that my church had a music video with a BUNCH of clips from. The song was "Big House" by Audio Adrenaline. I loved it.

If you haven't watch Air or Kanon 2006, I would highly recommend those. (theme: Family/friendship)

If you want even more light hearted anime, there are:

Pita-Ten (cheeky angel made friend with kind-hearted demon),
Nanaka 16/7 (theme: childhood vs responsibility),
Princess Tutu (role reversal, ballet, music),
Anne of Green Gables (orphan growing up in a Christian foster family),
Long Legs Daddy (orphan going to prestigious school),
Nurse Angel Ririka SOS (theme: family and romances),
Mamotte Shugogetten (comedy about guadian fairy from war time summoned to today's peaceful world),
Marmalade Boy (typical school romances),
Ultra Maniac (comedy about a magician that uses computer instead of wand)

Many of them has manga versions as well. The manga version is generally much better, and more in depth, in my opinion. Especially the second half of Pita-Ten. In the manga version, the plot has gotten very thick, about the past of the angel who has sinned, and a demon who has fallen in love with human.

Glass Mask is great too, but it isn't light hearted like the anime I listed above.

I don't know; someone mentioned Voices of a Distant Star, but I (as well as my dad) found it a little sad. Yes, there's romance, but it's bittersweet.

Whisper of the Heart is good; it's about an aspiring author and the hopeful violin maker she meets.
