Hey you guys might think of me as being a big dork for liking this show, but I was wondering if anyone knew if it was anime created specifically for America or if this is an actual Japanese anime, meaning it was released there and then brought over here.

I like what little I've seen of the manga ^^ It's supposed to be actual anime but I haven't seen the anime to be sure. So far, I don't recall any anime that has been
'made over' by Americans... unless Transformers? It seems anime enough, but I'm not sure >_<

I'm almost certain that Transformers is a real anime. The only possibility is that some of the spinoffs were not.

To answer your original question: yes, it is a real anime.

As for liking the show... well, to each his own.

What do you supose was the target audience for this show? Perhaps that small gap between 9-10, when wrestling was fun, but you still slept with your stuffed animals and race car pajamas?^^

Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.
- J. Hudson Taylor
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

Where are you guys watching it? If it's anything like the manga, I'm probably going to be a fan as well (I'm total sucker for stupid classical shonen stories).

Ever since I've seen this Ultimate MUSCLE stuff popping up I started wondering if there had been anything that went with all the little pink plastic guys I had bought stacks of when I was a kid. Is there anywhere to check out the old stuff?

PS, I think the original little pink dudes are better than the multicolored little dudes they are putting out now, but the larger action figures are cool.

It's currently airing on the Foxbox. Which means that its license is owned in the US by 4kids. Which means that it probably has been edited a lot from the original.

I try to get a chance to watch the show on sundays (is it?) but the videogame is awesome! Its the best wrestling game out there btw. But yeah, my teacher even knows about the VERY VERY populiar manga back then 80's in Japan. I don't think it ever came to America back then. US rocks! But some of the US dubs I heard for the recnt series suck, the jokes and all... they all cant stop TALKING!! lol, but I wanna get the sub version on DVD anyway. XD

Now up until this point I've been keeping my mouth shut. And I still have no intention of coming in here and speaking about how I don't like this show. I know how annoying that is. As I said before, to each his own.

But I feel the need to post this.

Yeah, I just like it because it makes me feel like a little kid when I watch it. It's just a lot of fun and it doesn't have a dark plot line in my opinion and its just a bright fluffy show, at least the FoxBox version.

You know, on a side note, to me it looks like a little kids show, but that's after 4kids edited stuff and whatnot, but I wonder, was Hamtaro edited?

I don't think so. I doubt that had anything to edit in the first place.

For all its problems being a 4Kids licensed anime, it is still so entertaining. The real problem of mine isn't the anime but my parents. My father thinks he is funny and makes pitiful attempts at jokes. Well, I had the unfortunate occurrence that he saw an episode with Monsieur Cheeks and every saturday from then on I get to enjoy him clowning around and saying, "MISTER CHEEKIES!!!"

It got tiresome the first time.

You do realize that you neglected to answer me in any way, correct? This could have something to do with the being misunderstood part.

I meant it in a jesting manner, actually. When I'm cold I get far more cynical and satirical. That is me in a warm mood.

I think UM can be quite funny. Though I'm kinda fed up of watching the episode of Kid vs Dialabolik.

Hmm... if the anime is still stupid, maybe I should attempt to watch an episode sometime.... but I really doubt anything 4Kids touched would come out fine. They probably lowered the stupid-ness to 4yrkids-stupid-ness.

Regardless, I need my does of stupid-ness. It's hard to get HK Stephen Chow movies here. XD

I would by large say that you are correct. Then again, people relatively near my age also found Love Hina and Dragonball (no offense) funny. I'm probably not the best person to comment about the humor value for the average person.

Ultimate Muscle!! Woot!! The caroon Fox has ever showed besides Escaflowne and Spiderman. It's like Excel Saga except the whole plot focuses on wrestling. I love the mindlessness of it. Funny stuff!
