Anime Clothing

Postby ishy » Wed Jun 06, 2007 4:07 am

We're planning to do a table this year at AWA of knit and crochet items, and I want to know if there are clothing items like scarves or hats that you are dying to get from your favorite anime? What about favorite anime animals?

So far, we have cat ears hats, Ichigo hair hats, and maybe pirate hats. We'll also have stuff like anime amigurumi, and our group especially has a thing for dragons.

If you could find me a picture of these, that would help out a lot in making a pattern for them.

How about knit diclonius vectors from Elfen Lied?
The cake used to be a lie like you, but then it took a portal to the deception core.

Hm, interesting. I've never seen EL, so I had to look it up. The question would be how to make them look 'invisible'....

We definately could do the horns.

I tried to think of something that would have a wide appeal, but I think you guys are already planning on all the things I came up with.

So the next place my mind went: little knitted Timcampys from D.Gray-man.

Might need a better pic of it. I tried searching, but couldn't find one.

One thing I'm working on right now is the prototype for giant stuffed Pocky, which possibly could be used (gently) as a sword.

Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Who is this golem, that can summon fire without flint or tinder?

Well, hats with kitty ears are a perennial favorite, so if you make some of those, you'll likely make some good money. Do you have any pics of stuff you've done?

Gosh, I know I have good ideas, but they're locked away. Let me think about it.

I'm not the only person who will be running the table, but I'm the only one who's been to AWA before, so I'm kind of the organizer. I don't have a lot of pics of my crochet stuff. We didn't have a good enough camera until recently.

Here's a package I made of Harry Potter stuff
The Snitch is crocheted from my own design, and is made to be played with, so it's more functional than pretty. The wand and the mini broom are completely handmade.

I'm working on the Pocky, so maybe in the next couple of days.

(BTW, I love the Vic quote. That sounds just like him...)

Only thing I would want would be InuYasha's kimono. Not a cheap imitation, a genuine full kimono, obai and everything. I know that would be pricey, but that's really all I want.
