Well, I'm not going to give blow-by-blow details of what goes on in Ninja Scroll. However, I can list some of the bad things which happen:

 1. An entire rape scene
 2. Full Frontal Nudity
 3. LOADS of blood/gore/violence
So ya... It is not too recommended from this person who shut it off after the first five minutes (that's how long it takes #1 to happen....).

Ninja Scroll - not for the faint of heart.

Postby Shinigami » Sun Mar 07, 2004 7:42 am

Yes, Ninja Scroll is indeed considered one of the anime Hardcore classics. Along with Akira, the amount of bloodshed, betrayal, scenes of senseless violence and massacre is quite much for the standard anime viewer. One might say the amount of killing and blood/gore is realistic, whereas in my honest opinion, it goes a bit overboard. I've seen it 3 times all the way through, and it is quite disturbing. I'll advise you - if you DO eat something, try eating it AFTER watching, not before. Other than that, I wont spoil it for you.

Good Luck.. I guess.

An entire rape scene

Commited by supposed christians. The anti christian elements go farther than that... a priest turns into a huge demonic monster...christians are portrayed as weak, gullable people that cower in the corner in a case of attack and let a magic using person fight for them.

Ignoring the troll, I will list the objectionable content found in Ninja Scroll:

1.A girl is indeed raped; in fact, two different girls are raped
2.Christians are badly misrepresented, especially their leader, who uses the "power of God" as if it were magic.
3.The gore is definitely over the top, and unnecessary. How unnecessary? Well in one scene, an undead assassin stabs himself repeatedly with a knife for no apparent reason. I would call that unnecessary.
4.There is graphic nudity coupled with gore and violence.

I have seen the entire film twice, so I am not just making this up. I realize that some of the things I said are spoilers, but they are purely for illustrative purposes, as I do not recommed this anime to anyone. In addition to the content mentioned above, it has no real plot; thus it really has no redeeming qualities.

People who write below their abilities in order to crank out tons of books and make a buck. Especially Christian authors who do that. Outsiders judge us for it, and make fun of us for it, and it makes Jesus look bad. We of all artists on earth should be the most concerned with doing our best possible work at all times. We of all people should write with all our hearts, as if writing for the Lord and not for men.

For future ref, if you ever see a troll, PM all the admins at once. One of them will be along shortly to clean up the mess. :)
