I liked the book more than the movie. I also liked the way.... oh, never mind. ;)

I'm not really reading anything at this stage.

That book's good, very witty. I just recently read it aloud to my mom, my brother, and my sisters. We all liked it.

I just finished reading Lord of the Flies for English class, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I'm about to start reading The Screwtape Letters in English now, a book that I've read and enjoyed once before. XD I'm looking forward to starting it again. :D

The Circle Trilogy, by Ted Dekker...
"Black"
"Red"
"White"
I'm currently in White, the last book... and the first two took about a week apiece.

Just finished On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft by Stephen King.

I'm pretty sure it's the best book on fiction writing in my library thus far.

I couldn't finish it. Skimmed a lot of it, but it was just too dark for me.

I've just finished Frozen Earth: The Once and Future Story of Ice Ages by Douglas MacDougal. It was a good read, although I was already familiar with much of the material.
The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

I read Crime and Punishment and really enjoyed it, but no one I've ever talked to other than English teachers like it. I suppose it's only appealing to a limited audience. I like psychological sorts of books, and I was recovering from surgery when I read it, so there wasn't much I could do but lie in bed and read anyway. I identified with Raskolnikov's feverish delirium because that was sorta how I felt in the hospital.

Dark yes, but fascinating. But it's hard for many readers (myself included) to read his writing.

I read Crime And Punishment once when I was in my reading Dostevesky(sp?)stage.
I also read The Brothers Karamazov.
I still have my copy of TBK but find it hard to read now mainly because I am getting to the stage in life where I hate to admit it but I do find larger print easier to read. And the print in TBK is so fine.

I'm currently reading Gene Wolfe's Shadow of the Torturer. It's beautiful, if wordy at points. The complexity of the language can get trying, but it is written in such a way that this confounding language creates a sincere, dream-like story. I love it!!

Ah, excellent! It's a great book (though the only one of the quartet I read). I should point out, though, that you have never really read anything by Wolfe at least until you have read it a second time. To quote Neil Gaiman, "his books reshape themselves when your back is turned." Just some advice.

I picked up The Count of Monte Cristo (by Alexandre Dumas) and I've started reading it again. I'm about the part where Dantes sets off on his mission of vengeance, so things have only just begun. It's good writing (naturally), and interesting. Once I finish it I'm going to watch an anime called Gankutsuou (or something like that  ), which is supposed to be like a science fiction Count of Monte Cristo.... How do they come up with all these ideas? :wow!:

This book is fascinating, I really do recommend it.

Adaptive Modelling, Estimation and Fusion from Data: A Neurofuzzy Approach by Chris Harris et al.

Just got finished reading 47 and Twice taken I don't remeber the authors names but 47 was a great book. Twice taken not so much.
No one knows what goes on inside of your head
And everything seems to be ok.
And your the same as you've always been (your the same)
If I'd listened, would you have talked to me?

I don't wanna Let You Down,
But I can't even pick up myself.
I only wanted to make you proud,
But I don't think I can do this anymore.

When did this crowded room get so lonely?
And everyone keeps looking at me.
I'm tired (so tired) of faking my life
I'm so tired, I don't wanna feel this way.
