Not just you. She does kinda look like a cute little fairy. I think it was intentionally done by the creators, even from the get-go. Eureka always had that kinda mystique about her, with the cool blue hair and eyes. That still doesn't amp up the "What the heck" feeling I had when, upon seeing Eureka's wings for the first time, Renton asked if he could "feel 'em?"

One thing that always seems to make me laugh since her transformation is her green arm and little green fingers. Don't know why, though.

She looks like she'd be kind of... um... squishy now...

That said, I think she looks less weird now than when she had no eyebrows. I still question the wisdom in removing one of the key elements in facial expressions right as she started displaying a full range of emotions.

You know, I never noticed that she DIDN'T have eyebrows! Weird...but hey, LeVar Burton was able to emote quite well during "Star Trek: The Next Generation", and his eyes were covered up for that whole series (Save for a few episodes and the subsequent movies).

Back on topic, am I the only one that thinks Eureka and Renton's hair look quite a bit...rounder and...fatter than when the series first started? I know Eureka's reason for the hairstyle change, but what about Renton?

I never noticed a shape change on Renton... but I never looked for one either. I'll have to pay more attention.

Oh, and regarding Geordi: his EYES may have been covered by the VISOR, but his EYEBROWS were still visible. I always thought that helped a lot. Without 'em Eureka always looked startled in my oppinnion.

All the characters in E7 have always looked startled since the start of the show. Perpetual goggle-eyed stares from everybody.

It takes guts to single out any anime as having "goggle-eyed" characters :)

Yeah, Hap has pretty enormous eyes, doesn't he?

Hrmm, I never really noticed the eyebrow thing either... But, I've always loved the art in this show. I think it emotes a little more realistically than most anime art does. Y'know, it does more than just make the eyes quiver and enlarge whenever something emotional happens. I've also liked how not everyone in E7 has the same exact facial features--and not everyone looks like a total bishounen or bishoujou or whatever. I'm not saying every other anime does that, but a lot seem to.

Digimon is the series with the goggles!
Joking of course.
Actually I never did notice that Eureka at the start never had eyebrows.I guess
Gaara's lack of them on Naruto was more noticeable.

I guess Eureka had so many physical alterations going on at that point (and so little to actually do for those first few episodes afterwards) that it flew under the radar.

No, seriously, I know you meant Ritsu, but his expression in that picture was actually at a moment of surprise and consternation. Looking at E7 characters, you'd that they were at least highly puzzled 24/7. A shock now and then is good for you, but it's just not healthy to be that amazed all the time.

Yeah, it was the same time she got the facial scars (which, by the way, I'm glad the left when they gave her hair back. )

Not only did they give her hair back, they styled it way better than before! Not saying that Eureka's initial hairstyle at the beginning wasn't fly, but she looks so much cooler with it down! Oddly enough, (And yes, I know I stated this before) Renton's hair looks different towards the end of the series...it looks rounder and floppier, for lack of a better word!

I totally agree. It looks VASTLY better down.

Aww, darn it! Speaking of which, I forgot to pay attention to Renton's hair, so I still have no opinion to contribute about that. Of course, I WAS a little distracted...

On that note:

WOW!!!!!!!!

...that was one of the best 30 minutes of anime I've EVER seen! Complete and utter amazement concerning the actual events aside, I just can't get over the fact that the animation actually got BETTER this late in the series!

Any anime that has you jumping out of your seat at 3:00 in the morning during the PREVIEW for the last episode screaming "IT'S ABOUT DAWG GONE TIME!!!" deserves to be called one of the GREATEST anime of all time!

I also agree with ya there on the animation. It looks a lot more "realistic" and cleaner too.

Especially Holland's run on Dewey's ship. The integration of the 3D effects with the usual 2D animation was PERFECT.

:wow!: That is what it looked like. But the preview shows her in a white dress in the arms of Renton. Maybe she created some sort of worm hole which drew everyone in to the real Earth so the can all happy ever after.

Me?! Sit down and write a review for Eureka Seven?! I don't know...I'm rewatching the series on DVD, and since I started working this 5PM to 2AM schedule, I really missed quite a few episodes..maybe after I see the last episode, and watch a few more episodes of the earlier episodes, I'll get the nerve to hash one out!

Tom Dincht wrote: It was like the first good cliff hanger...
Renton had Eureka in her arms and kissed her...
...I was so excited! I really wanted to blast "Sakura" from my computer, but it was 3:00AM at the time, and I'm pretty darn sure the last thing my mom or nephew wants to hear is "Cherry blossom, cherry blossom" sung by a Japanese Pop group.

Oh yeah, speaking of the preview, did anyone else get the feeling that the creators were paying an homage to Evangelion with the flashing of the episode titles at the end using black and white cards? (NGE did the same thing in the final episode.)

hmm I dunno about that Khaki, maybe since Gainax did something with E7... but I am sure it's not an entirely new concept..

you know I just realized something..Gainax helped with this right? OMGOSH! IS this the FIRST anime that they actually finish!? Without having to use still shots and stuff that is longer than 6 episodes?! O_O

ANYWAS I AM REALLY LOOKING forward to the ending! I hope there will be a thinpack of this series, because I AM SO BUYING THE BOX SET

I thought that too!!! It's a total Eva nod! The difference, though, is that a pure Gainax product would probably have shown nothing BUT the episode titles and nothing from the actual episode, leaving us extra antsy and frusterated. On the other hand, a lesser crew would have stuck to the usual full array of clips, making it no different from the other previews and possibly spoiling a few things. THESE guys, however, had their artsy fun but THEN showed us JUST enough of a clip to make us go into fan convulsions. Brilliant!!!

And yes, Eureka Seven is ABSOLUTELY my next anime series purchase too.

Agreed! I especially love the little touches they made to the preview...even down to the timing...

...and I also love the fact that they said "Next episode]
