Two comics to check out!

Postby Aleolus » Sun Apr 22, 2007 11:52 am

OK, I have two webcomics I would like to recommend that people check out. First off is one called Two Kinds. This is, quite literally, an interracial love story, between a human and a "Keidran." Very interesting. It's not exactly what I would call "Christian," but it is a very good blend of action, romance, comedy, and mystery! Very very good comic!

The second is Zebra Girl. This is an extrordinarily gothic comic, so let that be the best warning I can give. It has a lot of demonic stuff in it, and has a very "goth" feel to it. If you like that sort of thing, it's great. If not, it can be a bit creepy.

I read a good bit of Two Kinds a while back. I really enjoyed it at first, until I started getting tired of the sexual innuendo. It really seemed like that was the only kind of joke the writer could make. Anyway, I don't read it anymore.

I'll take a look at Zebragirl, seems strangely interesting thus far. This guy's a really good artist.

Does no one else have any comments on either of these comics? I expected more from you all.

I looked at the links back when you posted the thread, but didn't feel I had anything to say. But since you're directly asking for comments...

Zebra Girl: I'm afraid I'm terribly jaded toward the gag-strip format, so this one didn't hold my interest for long. No fault of the creator, really.

Two Kinds: I ended up reading everything to the current page. Interesting enough to make me do so, but rather the online equivalent of cheap paperback romance. It's vaguely annoying to have relationships develop out of nowhere. But on the other hand, it's nice to see something where the main couple doesn't hover in the "will they or won't they" stage perpetually.

Eh, VG Cats was a bit too random for my tastes

Well, it was never meant to portray a story, either (unless you mean the individual jokes are too random). I do find VG Cats to be humorous more often than the average web comic, in my opinion, though I only check it every few months.

Yeah, I prefer comics that have actual storylines to them. If they start off just doing one-liners, that's fine, but it needs to actually get some decent story-arcs to them before a real long time. For instance, I read a comic called Dan and Mab's Furry Adventures, which started off with a lot of one-time jokes and so forth, then got to have an actual story.
