Have you watched a anime series and when you get to the last episode you feel that it just didn't end the right way.
I just finished watching Mahoromatic: Something More Beautiful down to episode 14 Na-Geanna.
Now I have read the manga which like always books seem to provide more than a series or movie.
The ending didn't have Suguru's and Mahoro's friends except for his middle school teacher and what they are doing in 20 years after episode 13 End of a Dream.
It ends with Suguru chasing and destroying androids, one that even looks like his grandfather and saying how he feels he was abandon.
It just seem that they took the story and just try to make it end quickly than stick to the manga's ending which looked a whole lot better.

[SPOILER=Ending of Mahoromatic]I felt it would have been more in character for Suguru to have thought Mahoro to be an illusion or a trick created by those out to get him, and would more likely have killed her than what actually happened. That's just my feelings on the matter.[/SPOILER]

Death Note. Don't read me wrong, I enjoyed the series and felt the ending was both good and suitable. However, there is one particular element I didn't care for.
[spoiler]That after all the mind tricks, word play, people planning three steps ahead, that Light would ultimately lose because of a fluke, Mikami's mistake. Neither Near nor Mello never actually outsmarted him, in fact in a battle of wits, they should both have been dead by now. Near only "Bested" Light by catching on to an error made by trigger-happy Mikami. Now, that in and of itself is not necessarily a major issue, or even a negative point...except that Near claimed that both he and Mello together could surpass L, as if he had planned this turn of events with Mello. No. Sorry Near, but had you stayed your course, you and all your allies would've been dead. Mello, acting impulsively and on his own agenda, led to a chain reaction that just so happened to reveal one flaw in your original designs by chance, not by planning.[/spoiler]Really a minor point, and I do prefer the way the series does ultimately end, but I've been looking for a place to vent on that one specific part of it.
NOTE: This is assuming the Anime stays its course and continues mirroring the Manga almost exactly.

Hunter x Hunter had a pretty sad ending. i think that they made Leorio a really shallow character who played very little in the story. i think they could've shown more of what happened to the Chrollo, Kurapica, and Killua afterwards as well. i didn't really enjoy the Greed Island OVAs.
I thought that the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (though it didn't necessarily have a DISAPPOINTING ending) could've gone on another 12 episodes...
I used to really not like Cowboy Bebop's ending, but after rewatching the series, i thought it was a pretty smart ending.

Judging by the books it's based off, there's certainly more story to tell. And I have heard rumors flying around of a second season in the works.

Yeah, I believe it's been confirmed for the fall of 2007. But last time I saw information on the topic it was mentioned as rumor. I certainly wasn't disappointed by the ending, I certainly wished it wouldn't end, though, lol. But that just shows how awesome the anime is/was.
Can't say I've had a disappointing anime ending yet, only movies that I can remember.

I agree. Many say how it's such a tear-jerker but I feel as if it just... ended. yeah it was kinda sad but then that was like, it. Didn't feel very... fulfilling...
Also hated the Inuyasha ending, for obvious reasons. Yeah, I know the same could be said about any other series which doesn't have their manga ending when the anime is made, but at least Fruits Basket felt like SOMETHING of an ending...
I also disliked the Eva ending, both of them :/ When I got into RahXephon I was like "Now THAT'S an ending!"
Also semi-disliked the Utawarerumono ending. Although it was near the end when things really started to get interesting and all, it was quite rushed and there could've been a few more episodes to slow down the pace and fill in all the prologue stuff that was left out (and somewhat had things make a little less sense).
Oh, and Saikano. I HATED that ending and it ruined it all for me :/ Well, lots of other stuff made me mad in the series, but at least when I watched the live-action adaption, they did the ending WELL.

Castle in the Sky.
[spoiler]I loved this film from the beginning and grew with it as it went on getting more and more anticipated for just what exactly Laputa was and what its connection was to Sheeta. And while I was continuing to expect something truly earth shattering in terms of story, it didn't happen. During the scene they were leaving the city, I kept saying, "No! Stop! What about the robots? Who created them? And what was Sheeta's connection to the city? Please, it can't be over." It wasn't that it ended badly, it just felt incomplete.[/spoiler]
Kiki's Delivery Service.
[spoiler]Another example of a film building up an incredible amount of character depth and story, but after Kiki saved Tombo I didn't expect the credits to start at that moment. To my dismay, they had. And again, I called out, "No! Please stop! There has to be a little more, it can't be over now..."[/spoiler]
However, I've heard the book is much longer and detailed, which I'm hunting for now.

I don't like 99% of love stories unless they meet my absolute perfection requirements, and this one was one of the worst, most forced love stories I've seen yet. I couldn't go beyond episode two without feeling that the characters had less depth then a number of silent characters I've seen in other films.

[spoiler] I think those questions were supposed to be the "magic" of the movie: making you think and look in wonder what this amazing floating castle. And maybe, Miyazaki left it up to imagination to think up that stuff. For me, if felt like like the small tidbits of information were enough to satisfy my wondering. [/spoiler]

The worst ending i ever watched which has not been topped yet is from Tokyo Underground. Because of this lousy ending, all other endings i've watched in other animes that were horrid to others seemed decent compared to this.
[SPOILER=Ending of Tokyo Underground]So the ending was, the group was in the middle of a tournament (underground obviously, hence the name) and then the building they were fighting in collapses and kills everyone AND THEN with the ending credits u see them all holding hands floating upwards towards the sky overlooking a field of flowers.
there was no conclusion, they all just died abruptly and then the end.
oh, and there was a evil company underground controlling everones lives which the main characters were trying to stop (its more complicated but thats the very basic premise).
wellll since they all died the way they did, i guess the company continues to persist, tho we'll never know now

[spoiler]That I can definitely consider as valid. After all, I adore the train scene in Spirited Away for showing all these scenes but were left unanswered. Why were the people there? Where were they going? Why was there a house by the sea? Why was the music so dramatic? So I can understand your feelings with Laputa. I suppose it's just my own personal taste of wishing for that little extra. Still, it doesn't stop it from being the incredible film that it is.[/spoiler]

I'm pretty amiable, and it takes a lot to disappoint me, but the ending to Jyu Oh Sei was so bad...
[spoiler]It felt like a complete cop-out. Granted, with only 11 episodes, there wasn't much else they COULD do but... it was like "ROCKS FALL EVERYONE DIES LOL END OF SERIES". I half expected Third to die, but Tiz's death seemed totally uncalled for.[/spoiler]
The end of Black Blood Brothers was also vaguely disappointing because

I had a hard time accepting Evangelion's original ending only because I felt it left out certain elements, such as what happened to the rest of the characters, though I was satisfied that Shinji finally figured himself out. And I actually enjoyed the End of Eva film in its own post-apocalypic way, as it provided more closure for the cast as a whole. And it's not as depressing as most people think; there's still some hope for humanity, even in the midst of what seems like the end times.

Wow, where to begin...I love Eva. One of my all time favorites, I could go on forever.

Almost every anime I've seen (other than Miyazaki's movies) has had a somewhat disappointing ending for me. The most disappointing was Fullmetal Alchemist (maybe if they'd waited till the manga was done, it'd be better? 'Course, the manga's not even finished yet...). I was also disappointed with Vision of Escaflowne, Wolf's Rain, Scrapped Princess...yeah. Pretty much everything I've seen, other than Haibane Renmei.
You can find out things about the past that you never knew. And from what you've learned, you may see some things differently in the present. You're the one that changes. Not the past.

I was greatly disappointed with Full Metal Alchemist. It just didn't fell right as an ending. I also didn't like the ending to the Black Cat anime.

That reminds me of the His and Her Circumstances "ending." The budget drops visibly to nil and two cents, the main characters swerve violently between zany and angsty, and the next-episode preview (yes, a next-episode preview on the last episode) does a great job of highlighting all of the loose ends.
That being said, I actually did enjoy it. If I didn't know that it was the result of production difficulties I might have thought it was some kind of post-modern parody.

The Wolf's Rain ending. Just what was all that? It was vague, not clearly explained nor easily understood. The whole series had a bizzare slant of course but that ending just seemed sloppy.

Wolf's Rain has already been covered, so I'll go with Peacemaker. There were about a dozen plot lines left hanging, and they spent the whole last episode on filler with a fireworks show!

Usualy i like somewhat open endings, but these had a too open ending. It really felt like something went missing. like in Inuyasha: thaks for waching! Our jorney continues...in your imagination!! BUAHAHHAAHHAHAH *evil grin*

Unlike others I think that the ending for the Inuyasha anime was perfectly fine. 
If they had ended it the way people wanted Rumiko Takahashi probably wouldn't have been able to continue with the manga the way she has.
Also I think it was brilliant that the anime ends with them riding off into the sunset in search of Naraku like it was a tip of the hat to Westerns.
The one ending I think could have been done more with was actually the ending to Witch Hunter Robin.I mean unless they planned on a movie or
OVA to explain what exactly happened to Robin and Amon in the end it seemed to have been left a bit open ended.

Therein lies part of the problem. I really think that producing an anime based on a manga that's still running is a very bad idea. Sure, it's a good business decision to cash in on what's popular at the moment, but ending difficulty is but one of the artistic problems. (I have to confess, though, I gave up on InuYasha before the last episode due to those other problems)
Anywho, Digimon 02 had a pretty frustrating for me. Unlike many of the shows mentioned here, it actually DID tie up many of the loose ends, but it did so in a very flippant and comedic tone that felt more insulting than conclusive.

Trinity Blood. Actually, it didn't quite disappoint me since I didn't really care much for the series to begin with. But wow....I feel like I could write a book about all the problems I had with that final episode. O_o
Wolf's Rain. I just feel like I've seen that ending so many times... But, at least it looked pretty. ^ ^;;
As much as I love Trigun, the ending felt a little rushed. There was no time for any sort of aftermath... They just had to squeeze it into some still shots in the credits. I really would've wanted to see more.
Similar to Trigun, Escaflowne's ending had the problem of trying to squeeze in both the climax and its aftermath into one episode. Great series, but the ending was a little unsatisfying.
I actually kinda liked the deep character-analysis and unusual last-minute optimism in the EVA series ending. Sure, plot-wise it made no sense, but at least it was thought provoking in regards to human nature. After hearing so much hate for it for so many years, I was pleasantly surprised. Still haven't seen the movie though...
The FMA series ending I liked--although, I agree you can't really call it an "ending". It really does a superb job of getting you excited for the movie. The movie was disappointing to me though.... They really had enough interesting plot elements to create a whole other 13 episodes, at least. Cramming it all into one movie left much to be desired, I thought.
