Whether or not it's a Rumor/April Fools prank or not is uncertain (But likely). However, I figure this is worth mentioning.

EGM's April Fool's pranks are infamous. I'll be hoping with baited breath that this is true.

So what is it with all these people posting pranks on March 31st? It's APRIL Fool's Day. Not March Fool's Day. This is getting a bit ridiculous.

They probably think being preemptive will set people off their guard.

Hmm...good idea.

Next year I'll play an April Fool's joke in September! Then people REALLY will be off their guard and unsuspecting!

Well EGM did do the "Windwaker Remake" prank in February... (Actually I'd have to double-check that)

Kojima said he needed the upgraded, 50 gig bluray for MGS4, and he's probably being paid handsomely by Sony for this game. He knows the PS3 is resting on his game and FFXIII, and he's not going to port it over... At least not quite yet... In a year or two after its release, there may very well be a multi-disc release on 360, but us PS3 fans will have beaten and exhausted this game by the time you 360 fans get it.

There should also be a price drop by the time this hits.

I hope they upgrade their resources, which they said they would... In a tech demo video I saw on youtube, they said that the textures and such were not final. Which is good, because some of those textures looked like crap... I just hope if they go with streaming textures (a la gears), they are wise with it and don't try too much when it's in those wide shots, so the pop-in won't be overwhleming, and I better not see ANY pop-in on the characters themselves (Halo 2, I'm looking at you)

Actually, Kojima would probably be very open to a port, as I've read somewhere he said MGS4 would run just as smoothly on a 360 as it would on a PS3. And given other remarks I've read by him, he seems well above petty console politics. Whether Sony lets him, however, is another matter entirely.

I'm fairly certain that if Konami wants it to go there, it will. I don't think Kojima has the kind of power to stop it from happening. If the install base of the PS3 isn't high enough by the time MGS4 rolls around, Konami will port it, with or without him. I don't think that this is a legit announcement, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it.

I'm getting my junk mixed up. For some reason Itagaki and Kojima always blur in my mind. I've corrected myself, however, and taken down my blatant fallacy.

I'm gonna throw a wrench into the discussion and say that the Metal Mear games started on microsoft machines. The MSX is a MicroSoft computer standard. ^_^ In fact, the MSX was the home system for Konami in general in the 8-bit era.

As much as I hate microsoft, I won't even acknowledge the Nintendo versions of the original Metal Gear games because they weren't really made by Kojima. Metal Gear 1 was severely watered down (and, you know, missing the actual metal gear fight) and Metal Gear 2 never saw the light of day on the NES... The NES got some weird, illegitimate "sequal" which is actually what prompted the real sequal in the first place...

I would just like to point out that irony... Even if it sorta hurts my arguments.

Back to the topic at hand, I think it's very possible this game will go multiplatform later on... I'm talking a year or two. If Kojima told the truth about wanting the bigger discs, it will either be multiple DVDs or will be released on Windows on Bluray, hahahahaha...

Also, Kojima has expressed interest in wanting to work on the 360, just NOT with MGS4.
