major hub server down?

Postby Bobtheduck » Thu Mar 08, 2007 2:23 am

A lot of the websites I frequently visit were down today. Kotaku, PSU, PS3forums... Plus I couldn't connect to AIM or Yahoo... Was there some major hub server that went down, or something?

EDIT: Ok, the list of sites not working is growing... The big one for me is always google, but yet CAA is working just fine... I don't get it...

Some local DNS servers may be down, if it continues try asking your ISP if they have some usable server IPs and then specify them on your sytem.

Yeah. That sounds like your local DNS might be corrupt. You might want to be sure you've recently scanned for trojan horses. I know there's one that messes with DNS entries. On a whim, do you have a broadband router with the default password still set? There's another javascript trojan that can hack those regardless of your platform. Check that and make sure the DNS entries are right, then reset your PW.
