Yes we all think of ourselves in a certain way. What I meant to say that you were going a bit overboard in my opinion. From the start of this debate, everything seemed to be a matter of subjectiveness and your preference is that if someone spoils the show then don't watch it anymore...
All I did was choose not to continue watching it.
I'm not trying t change that decision in any way if that's what you're trying to imply.
I haven't done anything like protest, hate the anime, hate the spoiler (the person), quit anime all together, or anything of the sort.
That would be
extremely drastic and downright ridiculous. The only reason for hating anime is the lack of good content, dull story, or for other reasons. I hardly think that a spoiler has ever come close to such a state.
All I have done is move on from Death Note onto another anime.
Which is great since the anime seems dull...my opinion but disregard it.
Am I going to go back to it in the future? That's not really decided. I may and I may not.
In conclusion, you really don't know so the "I'm gonna stop watching Death Note" is subject to change right?
It's good to lose that sense of being surprised, in an anime that's supposed to try and surprise you in the first place? What's the point of watching the anime and following the story, then?
No, that's if you were obsessed with it. Yes, spoilers can be a good thing when you like them, but that's ONLY when you like them. If you don't like them, then they're never a good thing. However, there is one scenerio that i can think of that basically spoils the whole show is the mystery type . Again, I'm not very knowledgeable on the story plot from Death Note so don't take my opinions too seriously. What's the point of not watching the anime and not following the story then? Just because you can't enjoy it at the fullest potential gives you the implication that now is time to stop watching Death Note?
You don't have to be obsessed with something to desire full enjoyment of a story, ya know. :/
True, but I think you were obsessed enough to stop watching it. Unless you changed your mind.
This particular spoiler was HUGE. In fact, it was the climax (or at least, I think so). A MAJOR turning point in the story.
Spoiler for the Kenshin series but I'll reprhase in different words:
So if i believe that kenshin's death is a HUGE spoiler so I should "logically" stop watching the series?
So if i believe that a character's marriage between another is a HUGE spoiler then i should "logically" stop watching the series? A better reason would be to say that you either disliked the plot or simply didn't have any interest for it.
How much time is the roller-coaster really worth after that? Much less. Is it really just as enjoyable or exciting as before that slope was taken out? Not really. Sure, the roller-coaster can still be fun, just much less than before that slope was taken out.
Yada, yada, yada. Let's say that you took a look at the roller coaster from your computer via video. You quite literally know the roller coaster's tracks, moves and how it's going end. Does this "knowing" take away from the experience of actually riding it? If you want to say yes then I can't say more. Knowing something is quite different than being there while you experience the ride yourself.
In my opinion, there is simply no need to stop watching the anime because of a spoiler. I find it more exciting to watch something than to "know" what occurs.
All I'm saying is that there isn't much reason to stop watching it. This is not an argument between whether you lost excitement because that may well be the case but I don't think knowledge beats watching. Why? Because you seem satisfied with the thought of sticking to your limited knowledge and then decide not to watch it altogether so far.
This is my experience with watching anime and has no application to the rest of the world. I just believe that you chose to stop watching it out of assumptions while thinking that knowledge is enough.
I forgot about that thread. That's all. It happens. I'm human.
Whoa, hold on...I never accused you of acting intentionally but merely stated a question. I was just wondering whether you knew about that thread. That's all.
And for the last time, this thread is NOT about Death Note being spoiled. It's a suggestions thread. That is all, OK?
Well, it is directed to that as everyone is mostly talking about it. You also mentioned the spoiler so you should expect people to voice their opinion on that decision.
