I think the teacher from I My Me, Straberry Eggs should count. Yeah.

exactly what I was going to say.
When I was certain he was going to kill me, my mind went blank, and I didn't have any hope anymore. And the only thing I could do was scream my lungs out. I felt so helpless, I couldn't even bring myself to believe someone might save me. Then you showed up, Al. And I realized that if we don't take care of each other, then no one else will. So I'll do anything in my power to get our bodies back, even if it means being the military's lapdog. And we'll just have to hope our powers are good enough to help us rise above our own limits. Cause we're not gods. We're humans. Tiny, insignificant humans who couldn't even save a little girl.

Here's some of my favorite weirdos:
Edward from Cowboy Bebop
Washuu from Tenchi Muyo!
Eureka from Eureka Seven

I have to agree with Icchan and Kimura-sensei (in America, I think he'd be stripped of his teaching job for being a "potential" offender). I also think some of the characters from One Piece are pretty strange, considering I don't even watch that show.

Oh yeah, and Taishi from Comic Party Revolution also counts.

Hmm... You didn't finish said anime, then... I think by pure comparison, the appartment manager would be much weirder than Hibiki...

Weirdest character? Guu... 'Nuff said.

And, no, not all anime characters are weird... Is there a character in Monster who is really weird at all? Well, I only got to ep 26 before I had to take it off my computer so I could fit my own videos on there for editing purposes... I need a ruddy bigger HD... 200 gigs isn't enough, anymore... Heck, 1 terrabyte won't be enough anymore once I get a high def camera. Luckily, by that time, they will be about 50 dollars.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evcNPfZlrZs Watch this movie なう。 It's legal, free... And it's more than its premise. It's not saying Fast Food is good food. Just watch it.

I forgot Guu. What was I even thinking?

As for Monster, yeah, I'd say its cast is predominantly normal...as normal as doctors, detectives, and serial socipaths can be in the same setting.

Kamui wins this thread. His weirdness knows no bounds. However, he does love coffee... so he earns some cool points there.

Also, are we talking about characters that are weird by our standards or by the standards of their own worlds?

Weirdness tends to be a fairly universal standard.

I suppose I'm talking more about dramatic contrast. For example: Nabeshin is weird. However, because the characters and world surrounding him is even more weird, he seems relatively normal. So by our standards, he is weird. But by Excel Saga's standards, he is quite normal.

"God the great Creator of all things doth uphold, direct, dispose, and govern all creatures, actions, and things, from the greatest even to the least, by His most wise and holy providence, according to His infallible foreknowledge and the free and immutable counsel of His own will, to the praise of the glory of His wisdom, power, justice, goodness, and mercy."

"All of Christian life is ceaseless worship of God the Father, through the mediatorship of God the Son, by the indwelling power of God the Spirit, doing what God commands in Scripture, not doing what God forbids in Scripture, in culturally contextualized ways, for the furtherance of the Gospel, when both gathered for adoration, and scattered for action, in joyous response to God's glorious grace."
- Mark Driscoll

"Believers do not pray with the view of informing God about things unknown to Him, or of exciting Him to do His duty, or of urging Him as though He were reluctant. On the contrary, they pray in order that they may arouse themselves to seek Him, that they may exercise their faith in meditating on His promises, that they may relieve themselves from their anxieties by pouring them into His bosom; in a word, that they may declare that from Him alone they hope and expect, both for themselves and for others, all good things."
- Martin Luther

"I have to tell you first that I am ready to die. I have put my affairs in order. Your supreme weapon is killing. My supreme weapon is dying, because when you kill me, people all over Romania will read my books and believe on the God that I preach - even more than they do now."
- Dr. Joseph Ton, the exiled Romanian pastor (quoted by James Montgomery Boice)

I always thought his hair was brown but there was green patches due to the lighting.

I put to much thought into it. XD
