It's interesting to know what anime people use to obtain their avatars, especially when the characters are from a series we probably have never heard of. So I thought it might be fun to find out about the anime avatars on this board.
What series is the character/thing featured from and why did you decided to use it? Since some people tend to change avatars every now and then, let's consider this thread as a snapshot of your anime avatar at the moment.

The Main hero from Dragon Quest VIII. I like the character, though he's one of those "mute" RPG heros. Backstory is pretty cool and fraught with mystery. Also, the character design is just awesome. Check out his mouse! The mouse breathes fire if you feed him cheese.

I tend to make avatars from my own art, but my current one here's an exception. It's Vincent Law from Ergo Proxy, (which I'm really into right now). I've only seen the first 8 episodes so far, but it's stacking up to be one of my favorites. *crosses fingers for a good ending* 'Non Mi Destar' is relevant to the series and is Italian/Latin for "Do not awaken me."

He works for NASA in Mission Control, which is why you can sometimes find him standing in front of a giant computer, and he also takes random flights to the moon to make sure everything is peaceful.
