Saw the manga at work and thought it looked cool. Is there an anime and is it any good?

"All of Christian life is ceaseless worship of God the Father, through the mediatorship of God the Son, by the indwelling power of God the Spirit, doing what God commands in Scripture, not doing what God forbids in Scripture, in culturally contextualized ways, for the furtherance of the Gospel, when both gathered for adoration, and scattered for action, in joyous response to God's glorious grace."

While it also has the most fanserive, the manga has the most plot, most characterization, and most humor. There are two animes that you can watch if you so desire. Negima, which is a very bad adaptation that rearranges the order of events, fails at delivering good jokes, and cuts out major characters. It is widely considered a travesty amongst the anime community, though I do hear the dub is decent. The second anime, Negima!?, is an alternate universe version of the manga that has lots and I mean LOTS of visual gags and puns. In a sense, it's sort of a bizzaro world version of the manga.

My advice? If you buy anything Negima-related, just get the manga. Everything else pales in comparison. The fight scenes, the humor, the characterization, the overall plot. All of it is expertly crafted and well worth your read.

The manga had a 16+ rating if I remember right, and it was sealed in plastic in the store so you couldn't flip through it. Does that mean there's nudity in it? I wanted to pick it up but I cannot STAND nudity.
Anime News Network has 4 Negima series listed. The one I watched was licensed in the US by Funimation (Negima!), and although I haven't read the manga, I've been enjoying it quite a bit. Especially how there is (so far) no real fanservice. Every time someone is naked it is very conveniently covered up. There's a whole scene where pretty much everyone is naked and they just keep finding new ways to cover them up, like Wilson's face in Home Improvement. (I wonder if the manga is like that though.)
I'm thinking if you haven't read the manga yet, you'd probably like this version, because you don't have the manga to compare it to. While I'd love to pick up the manga, I really don't like the idea of any nudity, so until I know there isn't any, I won't be buying it.
Hope that helps! XD

From what I understand its about giving a 10yr old boy as much excuse as possible to "bump into" fanservice situations whenever possible.

It has much much more of a story than that. Fanservice is there, but it gets less frequent as the series progresses in favor of the plot.

There is nudity, so don't buy it.

Negima!? is good. A touch darker, and more focused on the plot, at least from what I saw... which was the first 3 or 4 episodes, I'm not sure.

I'll agree with previous statements. I have read the first 10 volumes of the manga and it's freaking hilarious, and the story does well holding its own too. The anime just isn't up to par with the manga really. The humor is there, but it's either toned down or practically nonexistent at times. So yeah, if you decided to dive in, just stick with the manga :-p
