At first I couldn't get over the way Sister Esther sounded as I thought Colleen
Clickenbeard made her sound a bit like Winry on FMA.Then after I watched the
first episode on my Case Closed DVD I realized she wasn't trying to imitate how
Caitlin Glass did Winry, but rather it was close to how she does Rachel on the
Case Closed dub.Though personally I believe that Riza is probably closest to the way Ms.Clickenbeard probably sounds..can't say as I haven't met her though I would bet that for Riza she uses a voice closer to her own.

I think she also plays Sakura on Betterman.

Are you watching the English dubbed anime? If so, you're not supposed to know much of anything about Yoruichi at this point. It isn't really that much of a spoiler, but here's the answer to your question:
Yoruichi is human female. But when she takes her cat form for some reason she gets a male voice. This may be because the cat is male or simply because the author felt like making her true form be a big surprise; why things are like the way they are is rarely explained in Bleach.
That's not unusual in anime though. For example in Sailor Moon Stars the Starlights are said to be male in their every day form but female when they transform into their Senshi form. Also in Digimon Biyomon appears to be female but in her mega
form she's male!
But as Renamon explains to Rika's mother(or was it grandmother?)Digimon don't have any real gender.

Just be thankful this isn't Ranma 1/2.

I would love to see Ranma 1/2 air on AS.I think it's rather hilarious.Any way it is a lot funnier than the brain dead 'comedies' they air.

Perhaps discussion of Ranma 1/2 would be better suited to another thread?

You get used to it. She doesn't use her cat form much after her real introduction.

Gin's english voice sounded off to me. I don't know. He didn't sound like I had imagined.
Kenpachi's voice is alright for first impressions.

I had gotten the impression he was injured but not dead.

I watched a few minutes of this episode for no particular reason and I agree; it wasn't smooth enough. However, I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt until his scene on the bridge with Rukia. If whoever the voice actor is can pull that off I'm willing to accept his English voice, though it wasn't quite what I expected.

Yeah, well he was in a coffin so....

If he comes back it would be so cliche and predictable, but it wouldn't end right.
Bad move on their part.
I'm dissapointed no matter what way it turns out.

Yeah, the revelation about Esther did seem kind of cliched. But at least it explains her birthmark.

Somewhat, yes. However, I'll be much more forgiving if the way he returns isn't cliche or has something cool about it.

There are certainly summaries available, if you search for them, or we can fill you in. Actually, the most recent episode introduced quite a few new elements, so you aren't as far behind as you think. Abel's death was shown again at the very beginning, so you got the gist of it.

That's Cain. He only shows up that episode and so technically we don't know much about him either, other than that he's Abel's brother and they have bad blood (har).

My rough episode summary:
Petros catches up to the Pope, beating the vampire that kidnapped him. At the Pope's request, however, he does not kill her, which leads to her saving his life later. Abel gets to the basement and finds Deitrich, who he defeats fairly easily in Crusnik form. But while all of this has been happening this Cain just shows up and starts killing everyone in his way. He gets to the basement but finds that Abel has already destroyed what he wants. Abel is in mid-attack when he sees Esther over Cain's shoulder and pauses. This gives Cain a chance to land an apparently killing blow and the episode ends.
One episode?
I was under the persuasion he was the overall antagonist.

other than that he's Abel's brother and they have bad blood (har).

Now Abel reminds me of Vash even more.

Oh by the way, if I was you and you were me and you made that pun, I would ban you. XD

Ah, I see how my sentence was open to that interpretation. To be clearer: he only shows up in that episode, none before it. You'll be seeing him again.

Tom Dincht wrote:Oh by the way, if I was you and you were me and you made that pun, I would ban you. XD

Fortunately, I am me and you are you, thus I can abuse my power. It actually wasn't intentional; I wrote that word without thinking about it, then decided to point out the fact instead of rewriting or letting someone else identify it.

Is it episode 24 already? I suppose it is. Yes, this is the final episode of the series. Personally, I expect the ending to be somewhat weak due to the death of the author of the original novels (if you don't know about that, use Wikipedia).

It wasn't terribly impressive, but it could have been much worse. What I find vaguely amusing is that he didn't actually speak (growling aside) at all until the very end. They cut his return much closer than I had expected.

Otherwise, I must say I was disappointed by the final battle. We spent too much time not seeing it. The lightning effect looks pretty and everything, but some choreography or even Crusnik power usage would have made the fight worth watching. Ah well. Watching the series on tv was free anyway, so I can't complain.

...anyone really just laugh at how similar this was to Trigun?

We have our "experimental humans" and how one of them hates humans... (though I am confused as to why Abel does)

Then we have this really anticlimatic battle...where it pretty much ends in a draw.. and sorta just stops...

Gahh..it was really pretty though.. I must read the manga know as Iam sure there is more of a story there...
