Sven Vollfield (Black Cat)

Nicholas D. Woolfwood (Trigun)

Buggy the Clown (One Piece)- I have no clue why, I just find him to be very awesome.

Ohhh! I second that! (Although I think Haruka should be included too, although since he's a Tengu he's waaaay old. )

Shigure Sohma - how could everyone forget about one of the wackiest characters from Fruits Basket (and that's saying a lot)??

I also like Krad from DNAngel even if he's technically the bad guy. Although I think he's suppose to be around 18 just like Dark but they've actually "lived" longer then that by a lot.

I'm on a big Princess Tutu kick right now (okay, I've been on a big Princess Tutu kick since...like...November), so the first character that popped into my head was Drosselmeyer! XD He's one of my favorite villians like...ever. (Although...you maybe couldn't call him a villian...)

Spike's definately a good one, as is Kenshin. Hatori from Fruits Basket is another...he's such a sweet character.
Oh, and they're making a Tales of Symphonia anime, so Kratos Aurion totally counts. XD

My favorite character over twenty would have to be Hajime Saito from Rurouni Kenshin. He has a great motto: "Aku Soku Zan" (Slay Evil Immediately). Other endearing qualities are his adherence to the Code of the Samurai and his refusal to quit even in seemingly hopeless situations (cf. his fight with Shishio).

I like Kyoko from Maison Ikkoku. She is very together and is probably the best representation of a regular woman in their 20s I've seen in anime so far from my limited experience. :)

Negotiator Yugo.

Bateau, Aramaki, and the (unnamed) Prime Minister of Japan (GITS)

'Mister' (Coyote Ragtome Show)

Karin's Mom (Karin, aka 'Chibi Vampire')

'Grandpa' (Prime minister / Overlord of planet Taraku) in 'Vandread.'

The Ramen shop owner, her sweetheart (the base commander,) and Kisaragi of 'Stratos-4.' [NB: If you can get past the gratuitous, overdone fan service, the jet interceptor and space/ asteroid-blasting scenes are pretty nicely done. I use F/FWD on VLC] I watched this long ago and forgot these characters' names.

Michelle & Cleo of 'Glass no Kantai.'

Bathyscaphe of 'Narue no Sekai.' The Japanese seiyuu has a great accent.

Cornelia of Code Geass. I'd love to pair her with or against Admiral Letopanu Spoor of Crest/Banner of the Stars., to see who is the better battle strategest.

The Gunsmith Cats. They're 21+ in order to be FFL's (federally licensed gun dealers) and to own Title 2, Class III weapons and other NFA toys. (as long as all your other ATF paperwork is in order.)

THE DOG (20+ in 'dog years?') in Dai Mahou Toge. (This show is as cracked as Nurse Witch Komigi Chan, and it's byt the same creator.) The dog switches between chibi obedient plushie pooch mode and grim Yakuza don mode.

The school principal of Battle Athletes.

That's all I can think of. But:

Other Questions:
- How old is Ifurita? (of the El Hazard OVAs)
- How old is 'C.C.' of Code Geass?
- Do androids biult to look like 20+ 'count'? In otherwords, Elcair of Kiddy grade would not 'count,' becase she's supposedly built to look like 14, and her companion Lumiere is even younger looking, but April of Coyote Ragtime Show would 'count?'

Is it just me, or do I find I prefer older Anime characters to younger ones? Or you know, maybe I'm just crazy.

And Geirr, who's that in your avatar? I've seen him before somewhere.

It's not just you, I prefer them as well. Younger characters tend to be portrayed with the worst characteristics of their age groups as the focus. It is rather annoying.

You have to also remember that most of the core viewers for anime in Japan are of that same age group, which is why there are so many annoyingly younger
characters than older ones.

My favorite anime character over twenty is Ash Ketchum from Pokemon.

Now, before you ask, no I am not mentally insane. (I think.) If you think about this logically, in terms of real world age, Ash would be up and over 20 years old! If he started his journey at 10, and Pokemon has been on the air for a little more than ten years, then Ash would be about 22 years old by now!

And yet, he looks EXACTLY the same after all these years (Granted, his voice sounds like puberty hit him with a Mack truck, but that's another thread)

I'm drawn to a couple of characters over the age of 20:

- Kiyone Makibi from "Tenchi Universe"

- Megumi Takani from "Rurouni Kenshin"

There's something about older women that's always gotten me... and no, I'm not referring to their bodies. <_<"
