Rounding out the easier part of the Refused CD library, eh? Nice. I hope you like 'em.

Yeah, I think I will. I heard the Shape of Punk to Come also on their purevolume page and that song is great. Ridiculously illogical anarchy never sounded so good.

Yeah. The Shape Of Punk To Come is a pretty good album. I'd recommend:

Worms Of The Senses/Faculties Of The Skull, Summerholidays Vs. Punkroutine, Tannhauser/Derive, Refused Are ****** Dead, The Shape Of Punk To Come, and finally, The Apollo Programme Was A Hoax.

When it comes to Songs To Fan The Flames of Discontent, I'd recommend:

Rather Be Dead; Coup D'Etat; Hook, Line And Sinker; It's Not O.K. ...; Crusader Of Hopelessness; This Trust Will Kill Again, and The Slayer.

Kkun wrote:It was really good, but I'd have to disagree strongly. It did have some great songs on it, though. The guitar work is INCREDIBLE. Seeing your taste in music, you should check out Islands. =D I think you'd dig them.

I'm more than happy with differences of opinion. I was up on all the developments in music when I was in high school and early college, but not really anymore, so I made my statement with very limited knowledge of 2006 and its' albums - mostly from what I've heard around.

But I still think that Mayer's development as a songwriter is immense. Each song is well put together, there is a lot of variety of song craft, his lyrics are thoughtful and non-formulaic, and with all of that, the album has a cohesive sound and direction. Coming from such a talented musician immersed in chart toppers and such, that is very impressive to me.

Islands, you say? I know nothing of them. What are they like, sound wise and lyrically? I'm always happy to receive recommendations. Any specific album you like best?

Yeah, I really appreciate the level of intricacy that Mayer puts into his work. It's very thoughtful. He's worlds above a lot of the chart toppers.

Islands have a kind of mellow sound... it's very lush, with a lot of instrumentation. The songs typically have a lot of different parts, as well. It's just really interesting to listen to. Check out Return to the Sea if you get a chance. I'm sure they have a MySpace page, as well.

mewithoutYou-Brother, Sister
The Chariot- Everything is Alive, Everything is Breathing, Nothing is Dead, Nothing is Bleeding

I can't exactly see why mewithoutYou is the best album of 2006, but it's still a good album.

The Chariot is okay I guess, but it's way too short.
I will give it a cool point for the best title of a song ever. Track 2, baby!

I can't see why you can't see it.

Good purchases, though. I think the Chariot's album is worth it, even though it's just over 28 minutes long. I usually hate when albums are only that long, but I think that short length is part of what makes that album amazing. It gets in, makes its point, and gets out.

The more I listen and consider all the albums that came out LAST year I have to agree.

Brother,Sister IS the best album of 2006.

I plan on getting another one of theirs. Is Brother, Sister the most superior of the three? (or 4, if you consider the EP or split CD they did).

Catch For Us the Foxes is my personal favorite of theirs. Their first one, A->B Life is a lot harder and garage rock sounding. It's got a lot more distortion and such. The EP is good but not great. They hadn't really polished their sound up when they recorded it.

I'll listen to each of thier CD's and think that the one that I'm listening to is their best...So that doesn't really help at all. Anyway I'd recommend getting "Catch For Us The Foxes." Than after a while get "A------->B Life"

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children OST. I think I like the soundtrack better than the movie itself.

Final Fantasy V OSV. While not as good as the FFVI soundtrack, it still has some good music.

Norah Jones new cd.

Don't get it. The songwriting quality is definitely lesser, as there are only a few that grab any sort of attention, and it is also a bit darker than her past two. Dark and Norah sound strange together - it isn't because it is more rocky. It's probably even more monotone in its feel than that. There are a few decent songs, but unless you're an avid fan, I wouldn't recommend you spending the money.

It's gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. If more praise and worship music were like it, people would stop saying that praise and worship is boring and only uses three chords. I highly, highly recommend it.

Good golly. Nice stuff.

GET SOME MORE THURSDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Full Collapse is amazing, but War All the Time is like a modern rock kick to the face. Also, Thursday are totally one of the original purveyors of the emo rock sound that all of these bands today play, so that's why they're amazing.
