Wow, you made it sound like it was awesome and you would love it, but then you just said you would pass.

This does look like Samurai Champloo meets Boondocks which means sheer hilarity in my book. I wanna catch an episode.

It isn't actually that funny. Ninja Ninja has his amusing moments but overall the series is meant to be taken seriously.

Are you kidding me? This series isn't a comedy?!

Is it more or less serious overall than Samurai Champloo?

I'm not kidding you. The series isn't a comedy.

Unless you consider a series where the main character's father was murdered and he seeks revenge for his father's death funny. And if you do, you probably have deep-rooted psychological issues.

Emphasis on "Cardboard cut-out," riding the coat-tails of Champloo's sense of style, but little else up there. And Boondocks mainly for the central character and his loudmouth sidekick.

May 22 will be the release date for Afro Samurai on dvd.

There will be two dvd versions. One will be the edited version and the other will be uncut (aka: director's cut)
