Honey and Clover Licensed

Postby Rev. Doc » Sat Dec 30, 2006 6:20 pm

I don't know if this has been covered or not (I didn't see it anywhere else). I know that there are other Honey and Clover fans like myself here. It appears that Viz has the region 1 license for this series along with Ichigo 100% as pointed out here in a discussion at Anime On DVD:

I'm definately looking forward to having these DVDs.

Wow. I'm actually pretty surprised. It's a year after its original release. I guess it's only a matter of time before the manga and Honey and Clover II are purchased too!) I hope that the DVDs released by Viz are as visually stunning as the Japanese released DVDs.

I hope that they do well with it, and that it does well. (But I hope that it doesn't become a fad. Yes, that's selfish, I know.)
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Well that's exciting. XD I still need to finish watching it, but at least I know I'll be able to purchase it afterwards this time! XD And hey, even if the dub is awful, we can always just stick with the sub on the DVDs. XD I only hope they release it well...you know, none of that "3 episodes per DVD" thing. :/ Here's hoping for a nicely packaged and cheap boxed set! XD

There is one thing at AOD that needs to be said.

It was on their home page that said this.

from AOD home page wrote:Viz Media New Licenses (12:44 PM EST): The upcoming NATPE Conference is where licenses tend to get shown about, often in attempts to get broadcast deals. Last year, this is where Hellsing was announced and acquired if I recall correctly. Some astute forum readers have noted that the Viz Media page has some interesting titles there. As we've seen in the past, these do not 100% guarantee that they will bring it out and because of the Shopro merger previously they could be acting as a master licensor and sell it to someone else, but the chances are very high for this to truly be Viz Media licenses when you add in manga crossover potential
