Final Fantasy Tactics PSP Direct Feed Trailer

Postby Omega Amen » Thu Dec 28, 2006 11:59 am

I promised that I would keep an eye for a direct feed trailer for the recently announced Tactics remake for the PSP. I also decided to make a new thread to keep the discussion focused on this specific game title.

Here it is. Brush up on your Japanese.

Well, I am excited. What say you?

I guess when I get a psp I'll get this too eventually. I may as well give tactics another fair try.

I just peed my pants a little bit, seriously. This is one of my favorite games of all time....seeing it get remade on the PSP for portable action is amazing.

Very nice. I like the hand drawn look of the cut-scenes.

Can anyone who played the original give me an approximate total playtime for a straight playthrough? (no sidequests and minimum leveling)

If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things."

That's a hard estimate to give, because in order to beat the game you have to do a LOT of random battles to gain JP and levels.

Agreed. It depends on what you do, really. If you blaze the storyline, you'll have to take time out to level up some... The 100% complete FFT file I've been working on since last year (which still isn't complete) has over 80 hours on it. Given, this figure is only for leveling up 4 characters and unlocking all the skills and items. I know that's not the figure you asked for... but it's the best I can do XD

Greatly depends on how you feel about abusing the battle engine, and what abuses you discover. There's one abuse in particular that makes many of the end-game battles ridiculously easy even at very low levels.

And if you don't abuse the battle engine, you WILL end up levelling a LOT.

Edit: I'd estimate anywhere from 45-55 hours for a 'normal' playthrough. Abusing the battle engine, you could probably manage 30 or less.

Speaking of those abuses, I wonder if the Infinite JP glitch will return in the PSP form... I survived on that! Even though it only works On jobs with more than one page on the main skills tab... Nearly all magic types, though, it works beautifully! That's the only abuse I know of. Unless you consider letting chocobos heal you an abuse...

EDIT: I hope the animation in this trailer isn't JUST for the trailer, and actually happens in the game... If it's a straight port, without any imbellishments, I would be a bit upset.
