I really expected Victor Kennedy to turn out to be the Master yesterday because of the cane and ring but couldn't figure out how you would get Master out of Victor
Kennedy knowing how vain he is.Good thing he wasn't,though the way they did
Love & Monsters one almost expected it.
I did like it that they showed it from someone else's pov instead of the Doctor's or Rose and that Jackie had more to do than sit around.Actually the scenes she was in were actually good in establishing her as more than just Rose's mom who sits around wondering what Rose is up to now.

I'm getting fed up with a doctor who has a time machine but refuses to go back and save people's lives.

It's not like he DOESN'T want to,it's that he CAN'T as he explained to both Tegan and Nyssa after Adric's death as it would violate one of the prime laws of time.

:eyeroll: I have a one-word reply to that... which I don't think I'm allowed to say on CAA.

I never saw that episode, and I don't care what he said then, either. They changed other things with the new seasons of Doctor Who (like all of his race being wiped out in the Time War, differences in the Tardis, different Tardis key, etc.).

And I repeat: what good is a time machine if you can't change the past with it??

You can see the past explore, but if you change it there can be serious consequences. I remember that ep with Advic I own it actually, It wasn't until the next one that it was explained. Alice did you see Father's day with rose, it explains a lot of the dangers of tampering with the past

That was an accident.Rose's father realized he had to straighten things out by dying as he was supposed to or everything would end in chaos.
There are certain rules of time travel that the Doctor, even though the Time Lords no longer exist, still has to abide by because they're basic to time travelling.
Not altering the past is one of them and another is that a Time Lord cannot cross his own personal time line and meet either his past or future self.Although this rule has been on occasion been 'bent' by the Celestial Intelligence Agency when they
needed the Doctor's 'assistance' and he was unable to provide enough help. Also
Borussa does it in The Five Doctors. But generally it has been forbidden for any
Time Lord to cross paths with his past and future selfs.

That may have been another insistance of the Celestial Intelligence Agency stepping in.According to the Discontinuity Guide there seems to be a possibility that
the Second Doctor was actually allowed to go on probation after his trial, something that the CIA may have worked out with the High Council convincing them of the
Doctor's usefulness. He then had some unrecorded adventures first alone and then with Jamie, which is when the 6th Doctor and Peri meet up with them.
After this particuliar adventure the Doctor(again according to DG)started to slowly rebel more and more against the CIA and finally they revoked his probation and he was forced into semi-permanent exile on Earth because they knew that it was about to become a center of alien incursions once more and the Doctor was more of use marooned on Earth for a time.

Well I don't know if Tom Baker would be up to it or not but that would leave the
5th,6th,7th,8th,9th and 10th Doctors. They could call it The Six Doctors.
As long as they brought along some of the old favorite companions.
Actually I think the one I would like to see is the 10th Doctor meeting the 6th because Colin Baker didn't get as much air time as the others.

This season ended with a rather ominous feel to it when the Doctor states:
"There's a storm coming."
I don't think he was talking about the weather either!

Let's hear it for Dalekenium!
The ending was bittersweet.
Though I really got a laugh out of the way the new Companion showed up in the end.
Doctor(sees strange woman in TARDIS):"Who are you?"
Woman:"Where the hell am I?"
Doctor:"Wha...?"
Woman:"Wha..?"
Doctor:"Wha..?"
It was even funnier when you notice how she was dressed.

I believe you, but I haven't seen most of them.

For some reason, this new Dr. Who is the first I've really been able to get into. (I feel like it's one for my generation, but there may be other reasons why I follow it more than the old ones.) In a way, I look at it as its own seperate thing -- which is probably not fair, but since they changed (I thought) so many things from earlier, I try not to compare it to the old Dr. Who's. Perhaps this is wrong of me.

Anyway, I thought it was sad. I hope they bring more seasons over, but I'll miss Rose. She was a great sidekick.

P.S. Heard a joke on a public television Britcom on Sunday:
"Knock Knock?"
"Who's there?"
"That's right!"
Maybe I'm quoting it wrong. It sounded a lot funnier on TV... :eyeroll:
Yes. At first I didn't think it could be him because he looked so different, but I knew the voice had to be his. It was pretty weird seeing him in a role like that. Actually, it was just weird seeing him on American television.

Hey guys,

I'm an avid Doctor Who fan. I've seen the NEW series.

In my personal opinion...it sucks.
The show went from incredible adventures to cheap sight gags. The writing isn't as good anymore. Not to mention that since the show's Executive Producer and head writer is the same guy who ran "Queer as Folk", you can tell a giant drop in morality on the show. For example, in Doctor Who, the Doctor never swore, nor was there any swearing on the show. Well guess what's going on now.

The adventures aren't that great either and don't have you on the edge of your seat much. The visual effects are terrible, but that wouldn't be noticed much if the writing and creative thinking of the show were the same as the original, when they used creative adventures to substitute the horrible budget they had.

Anyhow, I give the new Doctor Who a 1 out of 5 right now, but hopefully it will improve.
