I'd totally get a white wii if they only release the black PS3s... Nice for contrast.

I just played Zelda twilight princess on the wii, and I must say that I am very impressed.

Because I am slightly dyslexic, I've always had trouble with traditional video game controlers. That is totally gone with the Wii. The movements are much more natural, and they make the game much more fun to play because I don't need to worry as much about remembering button combinations.

I love Zelda games (in fact they're some of the few games I'll actually play), and Twilight Princess looks very nice visually, and it's also very fun to play.

And finally, the mystery of the sensor bar is revealed!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTGSkYRDpWY

The sensor bar is NOT a sensor bar, it has no receivers, and the remote has no transmitters. This may be the reason people complain the remote is kind of imprecise.

Hm, that's interesting.

Anyhow, I picked up Excite Truck yesterday, and it rocks! I wasn't excepting to have so much fun with it, but blasting across the Great Wall of China at 233+ MPH and a mile in the air is incredibly thrilling.

A disclaimer: Honestly, if it works for you the way you say, then good! I'm glad you finally get to enjoy games! However

That statement would work with, say the boxing game, but not with twilight princess... No matter how you swing, it doesn't change the direction of the sword... To do overhead, you have to hold Z, and to stab you have to, I believe, hold z and hold forward on the analog stick. Not quite the natural movement advertised... In fact, I got very confused because I kept hitting A whe I wasn't supposed to, and since my hands weren't tied together like they were with a normal controller, I always had link bolt off in the wrong direction because I didn't pay attention to what direction my left hand was turning...

I love Zelda games (in fact they're some of the few games I'll actually play), and Twilight Princess looks very nice visually, and it's also very fun to play.

It is nice, I plan on getting it someday, but if you have those sort of problems, that won't change with Twilight Princess... The hand issue (possibly having both hands going different directions) could actually make control MORE difficult for you... Just giving you a warning.

DVD movie compatibility will take a whole new Wii, and they said sometime in '07.

As for the black wii, you can count on it. Nintendo has been making alternate system colors since Gameboy Pocket. Sony, on the other hand... They promised different colors... I wanna see a grey or white system... Maybe even other colors... I guess that's what skins are for, though...

Has anyone here picked up Trauma Center yet? I just did (I never got a chance to play the DS version) and I'm totally addicted. It's incredible fun, and now I feel like I can do the real thing. Any volunteers for a lobectomy?

Yesterday I stopped by a nearby gamestop and got some hands on time with Excite Truck. It was actually pretty fun, and I really liked how the wii-mote worked. I just wish that they'd had a LoZ:TP demo.

Do you own Excite Truck? I do. It's controlls are incredibly precise. It's the best controlling game on the system right now.

People saying it's not 'precise' enough may be having issues in where they are relative to the TV. Getting real close to the TV generally doesn't work well (sort of throws off calibration or something, I believe).

Uh, no. Getting close only affects the pointer. And not even in a bad way. Excite Truck doesn't use the pointer anyway.

So yesterday I caved and bought a Wii. I also bought LoZ: TP. This game is fantastic. Although this is no suprise to me that I like it; if there was one thing I'd be a fanboy for, it'd be Zelda.

I really, really wonder what it is that is causing a few people to have sensitivity problems with the wiimote. I have found it to almost be too sensitive, if that where possible. O.o

I also read a few pages back that some people where having problems with bowling. I haven't had any trouble with it, in fact, you can add spin to the ball with a twist of the wrist just before releasing. It's quite awesome with multiple players.

If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things."

How close are you to the TV?

btw, can you believe that a few people are complaining about TP, on the internet?

It's really disgusting. XP

Then again, the internet complains about everything, so it's no big deal.

Anyway, great choice, choosing TP for your starting game. it's the greatest Zelda ever made. and I can truly confirm this as I beat it some days ago.

parts of it gave me goosebumps, and I love the story.

the ending was especially nice! I won't spoil it for you (being the only one who's beaten TP on CAA and my whole state really sucks. :() but you'll just... love it.

1. I connected my wii to my PC monitor. So I am sitting about 3-4 feet from it when playing. The biggest problem I've had with this is that I must point at the sensor bar instead of at the screen when aiming.

2. I can actually believe it. I felt that the controls felt tacked on during the first 3 hours of gameplay. However, after I got used to the ay it works, it felt perfectly natural.

My biggest complaint so far is that Epona still controls like it did on the N64. Not a bad thing, except that with the Wiimote it could have potentially controlled like a real horse. One hand on the reigns, and one hand on the sword. I think it could worked great.

My other complaint is the lack of a free camera. This is a step-backwards and should have been fixed before release.

I think I'll be buying the cube version once I can find it used for 10$ or so. I like playing through games in "mirrored mode" anyways, so I might as well play and beat both versoins.

Yeah, I actually sent the wiimote all the way to the right, and the ball still veered left, its course completely unaltered no matter what I did with the wiimote. Quite perplexing and annoying. It worked fine (mostly) with the boxing, even though the boxer's arms twitched like a crack addict.

Bowling seemed... odd to me. I had similar problems to what Bob did, but when my sister started playing, she kept getting strikes and played perfectly. I guess it may just have something to do with the player? Go figure...

Heh, Something Awful has a thread right now to find the best captions for the Wii instruction manual. Obviously it's extremely inappropriate to link to from here, but it's hilarious. XD;;

But I think I can safely share this one:

Hehehe^^ Along with the trademark purple box, that's awsome^^ Aww but c'mon... Wii's can get tired too from doing all the work they do! They need a rest too and shouldn't you give it a nice little blanky?
