Postby mitsuki lover » Wed Nov 29, 2006 12:18 pm

This is simple, simply list all the anime you have seen NOT on Tv,that is anime that you have seen either at the movies or on DVD or on Video.
They can be say for example:
*Anime that have never been on tv before.
*Anime that have been on tv but you missed them when they were on.
*Anime related to anime that have been on tv but have themselves never been on.
Basically any anime that you have watched on anything but tv.
Examples of animes that I haven't seen on tv:
*Bubblegum Crisis:Tokyo 2040
*Vision of Escaflowne(series)
*Ah!My Goddess
*Excel Saga
*Sailor Moon Super S
all of which I have seen only on DVD.

Aside from RE-watching a few stray episodes of Bebop on AS, everything I've seen is on DVD (or fansub).

I'm the same. We don't really have a great range of anime here on NZ television. So 90% of what I've seen has been on a computer screen or DVD. However I did catch Tokyo Mew Mew on television... just from the one episode I saw (and that's not a good indication, I know, but still...) I'd much rather watch a subbed DVD than a butchered TV version of an anime.

None of it hardly ever airs on TV here in UK. All I've seen is Digimon, Pokemon and Yu Gi Oh...I watch anime online.

I don't have cable, so the only time I watch anime on tv is when I go to my grandparent's house. The ones I have watched not on TV purely though are
Scrapped Princess
Nearly Half of Black Cat
3 episodes of Noir
and that's it.

Don't hold your breath for those two--It'll be a LOOOONNNNNGGG time before any of the Eva movies see the light of day or night!

Anyway, back on subject:

Sorcerer Hunters
Midori Days
OUTLAW STAR!!
His and Her Circumstances
Pilot Candidate (Megami Koushei)
Strawberry Marshmellow (Possibly too cute for regular viewing!)

These are the ones that stick out in my head the most that I really love, but have only seen on DVD or ran once on TV and was never seen again!

There's no way I could make a complete list. I could list what I own, but there's stuff I've seen that I don't own. I've seen hundreds of different anime and only a handful were on TV first.

*Ah!My Goddess
*Excel Saga
*Sailor Moon Super S
all of which I have seen only on DVD.

I know the premise of this thread, and all, but bubblegum Crisis 2040 HAS been on TV. The action channel and the Anime Network... That's actually the only way I got to finish the show (action channel)

Hmm... I'm gonna stick to anime that has been licensed (no fansubs) I'm nearly certain has never been on TV, except maybe the Anime Network: Excel Saga... Adult Swim would even be crazy showing this in its entirety... IE Ep 26 *shiver*

Onegai Teacher... At least, as far as I know. (BTW, just to get a fanboyism out of the way, it has NEVER been known as "Onegai Sensei" it said "tiichaa" in katakana, which makes the name change that much more perplexing... It'd have been funny if they called it "Please Sensei" since that would better fit the original title)

Strawberry Eggs.

.hack//liminality - Maybe that's a cheat, but it is anime...

Azumanga Daioh... As far as I know... I can't see this getting on Adult swim, and Toonami would be out unless they cut the boob jokes and that pervy teacher. Oh, and it's not action at all... Maybe it'll get an independent showing like Hamtaro, or get put in the comedy block of AS like Milk Chan...

Dead Leaves... This is something I could see getting played on MTV late night, but otherwise it wouldn't make it to TV... Good thing for that, I don't feel like my brain getting violated again.

Gatekeepers (1969, not the one in the future) Since AU showed off the sequal which was moody and introspective and, oh yeah, depressing as heck, I doubt the original will get air time because it's far too... Positive. (it would be like Chrono Cross getting a US release, then releasing Chrono Trigger later...
Oh, Chrono, Marle, and Lucca... The dead people from the end of Chrono Cross... So, I guess I know how this will end up
)

Pretty much everything I own except for Cowboy Bebop I have not seen on TV.

So if I'm stuck with something that sucks, so be it.

Research research research!

Apart from Sailor Moon (all the series) and Digimon 1 & 2 (and that was A LONG time ago) all I've seen was either off youtube or friend's DVD player.
